Type 1 Diabetes Cure in China: When Available in India?

Ans: There is no proven and approved cure of Type 1 Diabetes, as of now. There are a few trials and research are ongoing. The news from China is very promising but it is an early stage. Such investigation trials and findings need to be further validated and we should wait for some more time. Hope that in next few years, there would be more advance in science and we will have better treatment for T1DM.

Early Morning Oats: Healthy Habit or Cause for Concern?

Ans: You need to modify your dinner time anti diabetic medications so to ensure that you dont have to eat early in morning.
What you have indicated points towards fact that you might be going towards hypoglycemia.
after taking oats or anything, the values taken in the morning are not fasting.
The fasting blood sugar means - values after atleast 8 or preferably 10 hours after previous meal or any eating.

Ans: Juices are not a good idea. I am not sure what quantity you are consuming. Some of the fruits you have mentioned is high sugar.

Irrespective of parameters, everyone can benefit from 30 to 60 min of moderate intensity physical activity atleats 5 days a week. Everyone can benefit from improved and balanced diet.

The blood sugar levels are still in range of pre-diabetic. Therefore, it is advisable that while you continue the lifestyle modifications, it will be useful if you take atleast metformin, which works as insulin sensitiser. Your creatinine parameters are going beyound that range. Since I dont know your age, it is not possible for me to estimate your GFR. However, that value itself is an indicator your kidney functions are compromised.

It would be useful if you get Urine Albumin Creatinine Ratio (UACR) done and which will provide additional information about albuminuria etc.

Ans: Long standing- specially uncontrolled hypertension- has risk of development of kidney disease. Considering you have hypertension for last 40 years, it is not surprising that early sign of kidney disease have started appearing.
Normally, creatinine is in in range of 0.7 to 1.4 in healthy individuals with some increase over period of time/age. Your creatinine parameters are going beyound that range and your EGFR is around 49. That essentially mean your kidney functions are compromised and this would be classified as Chronic Kidney Disease stage 3a.
It would be useful if you get Urine Albumin Creatinine Ratio (UACR) done and which will provide additional information about albuminuria etc.

Ans: It seems there is a quite variation in your sugar levels in day. While fasting sugar levels are largely in acceptable range but post meal are high. This could be due to excess carbohydrates in your meal or large meals you might be consuming. Apparently, the medications are also insufficient.

I am also not sure why metformin, the essential pillar and first line of diabetes therapy is not part of your treatment regimen. Do you have side effects with metformin.

Your anti diabetic medications require a comprehensive review. I believe taht immediate focus should be to bring blood sugar levels to normal range and than we can explore whether it should be done naturally only or with medication.

The first approach in diabetes therapy is good sugar control and how it is done is important but secondary.

Eat 70% of your stomach's capacity. Stop much before you feel full.

I am not sure about your age and for how long you are drinking? The liver and other organs are affected over a period of time. The changes are also determined by family history and genetic factors.

My advise would be to reduce alochol consumption and preferably, stop completely.
In some countries, alcohol bottles carries the warning that it can cause liver cancer; very simialr ways the cigarette packs have warnings.
