Do I Need Diabetic Medication Now? I'm 49, Prediabetic for 12 Years, and Started Gymming

Male 49 years ,179cm height and 68kg weight . Taking medication for BP,Cholesterol, Uric acid regularly and in control. Prediabetic for more than 12years-HBA1c- varies from 6.4 to 6.7 . Currently its 6.7,FBS-128. Used to walk earlier ,now going tp gym for 1 hour in 5 to 6 days in a week. Haven't started Diabetic medication yet. Is it required now? Kindly request your advice and suggestions . Thanking you

Ans: Your blood sugar levels are at diabetic level and not the prediabetic levels.
I would strongly advise you to start medication along with physical activity and diet control. However, I believe you might have done extensive diet and physical activity and therefore, it is important to start on medication for diabetes. It is related to legacy effect. if you control your sugar levels better in beginning, you can get better control in long run.
