1. Renewal notice does not mention Earned/to-be earned NCB, which other insurers expect to know, they just do not bother about any supporting docs like policy write ups, policy document etc.

Ans: If there is no claim in the policy then the NCB should be mentioned on the renewal notice. If the same is not mentioned then I would suggest you to kindly raise the matter to the insurer before renewing the policy.

2. For claim-free years, I am allowed eligibility for Rs. 1500 Medical check-up; this has to be lost as well in case of renewal, as new insurers upon porting do not offer this facility rather, they have some lesser benefit tests (or) nothing at all depending on the plans we chose.

Ans: This is true. Medical check-up is a kind of complementary service which insurers provide along with selective plans. In case of portability, some of the insurers have waiting period & some insurer provide the same from day one.

I have an individual health policy with Nivabupa. The current renewed policy document mentions: 1. Base Sum Insured Rs 5 lakh 2. Loyalty Additions Rs 2 lakh 3. Next Column Sum Insured (Base Sum Insured + Loyalty Additions + Refill amount ^) (in Rs) 12,00,000 My 2 claims totalling Rs 6.25 lakh for Angiography and Bypass Surgery were settled only for Rs 500,000. Is this in line with norms?

Ans: Hi Pannkaj,to answer your question we need to understand the plan details and the type of deduction done by the insurance company during the claim.

I suggest you speak with your insurer on why only Rs 500,000 was settled against your bills.

Also as a rule, do read all the terms and conditions on your policy document and the claim settlement process followed by your insurer.

I am only 77 years young. Have been having a health insurance cover for the past few decades - either as part of the corporate cover or on an individual basis. Have always enjoyed NCB while renewing Health insurance cover. I wish to increase my cover from current Rs. 3 lacs level to 6 lacs. Since I am over 60 none of the current insurers like Tata Aig or Policy Bazaar or Acko have ever bothered to respond to my query regarding above. Although Central Govt.'s Free Insurance cover for people above 70 is going to help me n my wife, I would like to have the additional cover for exingencies. Kindly help..!!.. Tks.

At the time of renewal of policyif we declare some disease which is not there at the time of inception of policy, will the premium will increase for the disease or it will increase accordingly as per the renewal time

Ans: Hello;

When you declare some new disease acquired to the insurance company before renewal then they may review the risk against their underwriting norms and revert to you with revised premium or refusal to insure the risk, depending on the nature and severity of the disease.

It is in your own interest to disclose any newly acquired disease, before renewal, to the insurance company.

Requesting you not to panic at this early stage. Let her appear for JEE session 2 and the state-level engineering entrance test. Let all the results out. You have ample time to think about the available options for engineering admission. At this stage, no need to think about management quota unless and until you want a particular branch in a particular college. Depending on her score in upcoming exams, she may get admission to reputed engineering either in Pune or Bengaluru

Ans: Assuming STCG is from Shares on which STT is paid and sold after 23 Jul 2024, your tax liability for FY 2024-25 shall be around Rs.21300
