I am 61. I have a partial removable denture(upper). I also have bridges in both upper and lower. I was suggested to go for implants. Will it be okay to go for implants at a later part of the life. Is it safe both health and moneywise ? Will it be cheaper if we go for full implant with 4 in one ; if so it may need to wait for few more year let other teeth will also fall.. Please guide and advise on implants

Ans: The best option for her would depend on the health of her jaw bone and gums and also her general health and co-morbidities, if any. All other conditions being favorable an implant would be the better option.

Orthodontic treatment (realignment of crooked teeth) should ideally be done by the late twenties or early thirties. As results are more predictable in younger patients. A bridge is an economical option to replace missing teeth provided you have strong, healthy anchor teeth on either side of the gap. But if, as you say, the remaining teeth are also not in good shape then implants should be considered. Please note your gums and jawbone should be healthy in order to support implants. Kindly consult a dentist to have your gum condition assessed and treated. Proper gum treatment can stop teeth shifting further and the gaps getting bigger. But cannot reverse the shifting that has already occurred.
