I am 54 years old. A businessman and exporter. Everything was running smoothly till last year october 2023. Then someone cheated me of almost 7 crores export order. Since then a downhill. I have 13 lakhs peraonal credit card bills, business debt of 3 crores. Somehow i am unable to get new export orders too inspite of trying 24x7. My employess are gone. Only a loyal driver remains and i will be unable to pay him in coming months. My assets a office approx 45 lakhs, a property of 1 crore, another of 4-5 crores, receivables of 18 lakhs. I am 47 and working in IT industry for last 24 yrs. I am interested in finance/stock market and thinking if there is a way to switch to this area from software engineering. I do not have any academic qualification in finance. Is there a way I can switch (with some preparation/study) to equity research job? Will there be finance companies willing hire people with little experience at an age like this?

Ans: There's never something that's late for anything.. Better late than never.. Is an old adage!?

However don't ever re-invent the wheel. It's round and will be that way .

Software to finance is definitely a good long way off.. And at 47 ..it's suggested that you don't do it, unless you live on love and fresh air.

I went through complete transformation in my style of working. From being casual happy go lucky young salesman to nearly perfectionist, sharp and 24x7 thinking salesman now. As the organizations changed, I adapted the work culture. As I grew up in the ladder, more and more passionate I became. I expected everyone to behave professionally even people out of my office and in general life. Be it a shop owner, plumber or a gardener. It is like Amitabh Bachchan as a head of Gurukul in a movie. To the extent that my wife and daughter are also experiencing my professional behavior at home. At a stage when I want to become relaxed and slowdown, leave some things to normal course, I am caged in my corporate behavior. To tell you more, I am a Cartoonist also and can find humour from anything that I see. But, my cartoons are also based on the product line my company manufactures. I am doing a lot of meditation, taking a walk and playing with my dogs but unable to change myself. How can I go back to my original self so people around me remain relaxed when I am around?

Ans: Life is a paradox of sorts it moves you around like a pendulum, before you realise, what has happened, There was a metamorphisis!?

So if you log out of the current opportunity, there's no guarantee you will find better employment!? Do you still want to risk it!?

A doctorate from IIT Bombay in Metallurgy and masters from NIT in Manufacturing with 5 years of experience including 2 years in academics and currently working from past 3 years in industry where I work mostly on finite element analyst of forging and bulk extrusion process and New product development as manager heading a team of 5 people. Some calls are coming to me but that are all irrelevant profiles in which my expertise is not there. I have been trying for the past 6 months but have not got any positive response. Despite such a highly educated person from premier institute and not getting any response is highly depressing. My son is some were addicted towards free fire and plays atleast for 9 hrs. we got admission in MIT WPU in cyber safety is it possible for him to concentrate in studies. And what should we take as parents

Ans: He got admission not bought admission did he.. So the guy's good in academics.

Now understand that the boy is recuperating from may some long study hour's.. Though 9 hour's of gaming in a 24 hour day appears a wee bit exagerataed.. Really!?

However steps can be taken to weed him out of the addiction OR passion!?

My son is in grade 10,he is above average good in studies,can excel to the best of scores ,want to pursue admission in CSE in best IIT center with good JEE score, But maybe because of performance and expectations pressure he wastes the starting time of preparation in avoiding the dedication he needs to put in studies ,gets attracted to online games , animated series etc Trying my best to withdraw him from all the distractions but not successful,pls guide
