Hello Sir, I want to become a businesswoman and have ideas for a startup. I know that for a business, having skills is more important than a degree. However, my parents want me to go to university. I have shortlisted two courses and have been selected for them at MIT WPU- BBA LLB and BSc Economics. LLB because I also have an inclination towards civil services. I had discussed with a teacher who said that Bsc Economics will give me a business understanding better than BBA, however, the career opportunities in that are lesser than that of BBA LLB and my initial preference was BBA LLB itself. What will be suitable for me, I am not able to make up my mind? Thank you.

Ans: Please keep in mind that, according to a recent report in the 'Times of India', most law graduates prefer to work in corporations rather than practice law in courts. You can pursue a BBA LLB and prepare for Civil Services as you wish (or) work as an assistant to any senior in any of the organizations to obtain expertise. Please keep in mind that you will need to choose your specialization for your LLB, whether it is Civil, Labour, Taxation, Business, Corporate, or any other. Also, you should stay up with the latest amendments. If you want to appear for Civil Services Exam, you should conduct extensive research before beginning your preparations. If Civil Services does not work out, you should have a backup plan A & Plan B. All the BEST for Your Bright Future.

Ans: Prefer BBA-LLB (in which you will have multiple career options, including Civil Services) to (than) BSc Economics. However, please note, as per a recent article in the 'Times of India", most of the Law Graduates prefer working in 'Corporates' than practicing as Lawyers in Courts. Besides, you should keep updating the amendments of various laws, especially your specialized subject (Civil, Criminal, Corporate, Tax, Labour etc.).

Ans: Dear as you have shortlisted BBA LLB and plan to appear for Civil services , Pl. concentrate on single target /Aim if you are really serious.

Ans: BBA LLB.. don't swing from BUSINESS which needs determination to CIVIL SERVICES..you need to do be a fellow of yes man shop.!?

Hello Sir I come from a science background but am mot eligible for engineering. I want to be a businesswoman and have startup ideas to open an online platform, the kinds of Zomato but a different product totally. What certification courses/diploma/ degree would best suit me for learning business skills as well as coding and technology and industry experience

Ans: You can / should focus only on i.e. Business Skills as your ambition is to become a Business-woman. Why you need Coding & Technology Knowledge? For your business? If yes, you have to outsource these requirements for your business. You don't need degree / diploma to run your business. Better to go for online Certification skills through Coursera, LinkedIn, Alison etc. to get some basic ideas. But you should do a thorough Research (from Google & other resources) about the products / services you have the plan to provide, demand for your products / services, pricing, distribution, manpower required, fund needed, product knowledge required etc. All The BEST.
