Ans: If your thyroid functions are normal, I don't think any diet will help decrease the size of a colloid goitre. In the past lack of iodine in the diet used to cause a goitre, this is very rare nowadays with routine iodinisation of salt.

I'm 41 years old. I work from a 10 to 8 job in IT. I have good appetite. for the last 2 years I have been suffering from food digestion issue, gastric issues, and constipation. I consulted family doctor - who asked me to get endoscopy and colonoscopy done. All results were fine and nothing abnormal was reported. Got Liver test also done - and results were fine (however it came as non-alcoholic fatty liver). I burp a lot after every meal and puke some amount of food after every meal as well due to excess burping. I have stopped taking milk products also since 2 yrs. Some days im fine, some days its troublesome. Currently taking Pathanjali UDRAMRIT VATI daily 2 times. I see some good improvement (burping has reduced quite a bit as well as digestion feels better) - puking has reduced to just a few times here and there and not very regular. I have stopped eating non-veg food since 3 months now (earlier used to eat once a week). Any suggestion is appreciated doctor. Thanks

Ans: I think you need to undergo some tests to determine the cause of the fatigue. CBC, Thyroid profile, Renal Functions, Liver functions, Sr Calcium, Sr B12 levels, Vit D levels. Do you sleep well , do you feel fresh in the morning?

Hello Doctor, I happen to be talking to a person who speaks in a normal pace but suddenly starts speaking in a jet speed which sounds as if a robot or someone non-human speaking.Initially,I felt may be due to some technical glitch I happen be hearing weird voice which sounded as if whatsapp's voice message played in a 2X speed.Later on,during further talks I realised that it was not any technical glitch but the person was indeed suddenly talking in a jet speed pace which was irritating to hear and impossoble to understand what he was trying to say.When I couldn't control my curiosity as well as irritation related to hearing weird talking speed then I asked him directly.He told me that previously his total speech was jet speed and now it's like what I heard which was normal speed of speaking which suddenly goes into jet speed which was irritationg to hear and impossible to understand. Doctor,my question for you-- Is he suffering from any medical condition which makes him suddenly talk so fast like a jet speed engine?

Ans: I can only recommend good "sleep hygiene". This is what the American Association of Sleep medicine recommends:

Follow these tips to establish healthy sleep habits:

Keep a consistent sleep schedule. Get up at the same time every day, even on weekends or during vacations.
Set a bedtime that is early enough for you to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep.
Don’t go to bed unless you are sleepy.
If you don’t fall asleep after 20 minutes, get out of bed. Go do a quiet activity without a lot of light exposure. It is especially important to not get on electronics.
Establish a relaxing bedtime routine.
Use your bed only for sleep and sex.
Make your bedroom quiet and relaxing. Keep the room at a comfortable, cool temperature.
Limit exposure to bright light in the evenings.
Turn off electronic devices at least 30 minutes before bedtime.
Don’t eat a large meal before bedtime. If you are hungry at night, eat a light, healthy snack.
Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet.
Avoid consuming caffeine in the afternoon or evening.
Avoid consuming alcohol before bedtime.
Reduce your fluid intake before bedtime.

She has had jaundice twice in her lifetime. Once when she was 8 years and again when she was 14. What could be the reason? What course of action should I take now. Thanks

Ans: If she is not symptomatic , it is most probably a congenital hyperbilirubinaemia. This does not need any treatment.

Ans: I think you need to follow up with your rheumatologist. Blood reports alone don't necessarily mean anything . The patient's symptoms also need to be looked at

Dr I have been expreciencing Low back pain on the left side for the last one year did an Mri , where the result -L4/5 - prosterior bulge indenting the thecal sac and touching the traversing roots at the lateral recess L5/ S1 disc- prosterior bulge indenting the thecal sac No major cauda equina compression seen i have been on medication ULTRAPLUS , BENCUS PLUS AND GABPENTIN and also the neuro doctor prescribed NUEROBIN INJECTION . There was improvement in the pain, and now suddenly i am having pain on the left side of the buttock cheeks, for the last fifteen days, done an Xray it is clear, i feel becuase of the injection , but it did not pain at that time, it started after 5 to 6 hours later, and also i am feeling shock like feeling in the head, but when i am sleeping the pain and shock is not there, it does not disturb the sleep, Kindly advise

Ans: It is unlikely that neurobion injection is responsible for your symptoms unless the injection was given in the buttocks. In any cas I think you can switch from injection to neurobion tablets.
The pain in the buttock could also be due to pressure on the nerves. You may need to consult a spine specialist

My wife's body aches when she sleeps on cot. Sleeping on floor on mattress she is fine. No any health issue excepr Slip Disc. She is 50 years old.

Ans: Does she use the same mattress on the cot and on the floor. Have her Sr Calcium & Vit D levels been checked.
