Hello Mam, My son is 10 years old is very lezzy he is not doing excercise not listening to me. Not agrees to go to cricket/karate or any other class. Just want to play mobile games, watching TVs. not ready to do outdoor activities due to this his weight increases stomach and chest come out. Behaving arogantly with his mother usually. Please guide me.

Ans: Make a proper timetable with only one hour of screen time. Demarcation of time for play and outdoor activities. For rude behaviour, screen time should be cancelled.
If necessary, consult a child psychologist

Dear Komalji, My son is seven years old. His weight is around 21.5 kg. I feel that his physique is too lean. He is not much interested in food. Every time, we have to push him to eat. He falls sick very often, especially with throat infection. His daily diet is: Breakfast: Milk every day with PediaSure powder and bread/egg white/chapati/paratha on rotation basis. Before lunch: Apple/Orange/Seasonal fruit Lunch: Usually Chapati/Rice/Dal sabzi Evening: Milk with PediaSure powder Dinner at 9 pm: Usually Chapati/Rice/Dal sabzi This is almost his daily routine. The growth of a child is influenced by poor or adequate nutrition, environment, exercise, hormones, serious or chronic illnesses, etc.

Based on his activity and nutritional requirements, he needs to take a high protein diet which will help increase his muscle mass.

Include protein-rich foods like eggs, low fat dairy products, nuts, lean meat, etc, in every meal.

Add lots of vegetables, fruits and salads in his diet to include antioxidants and fibre which will improve his gut health.

His immunity will improve with a good nutritional balance in his diet and energy-dense foods to sustain his activities.

He must drink enough water to remain well-hydrated, sleep for at least eight hours daily and have a happy social environment.

Eating less than your normal calorie requirements and being deficient in macro nutrients is generally the prime cause of weight loss.

Your son probably needs counselling about the nutrient requirements for good health and appearance myths.

Get his physical examination done as well.

I suggest that you get him involved in family discussions on the same issue and consult his friends about any other reason for this attitude.

He needs to build his muscle mass and lose fat percentage.

Muscles can only develop if they are given sufficient fuel.

Educate him on the ethics of fitness.

Hello Sir, My Son 14 years old studing in 9th Standard has not pay attention in studing, He is sleeping & lazy in all the Periods of School classroom.His body language is very idle & he has very Lazy guy. this is may due to he not eating healty food like, dryfruits, vegetable (eathing Junk Food) instead our so many attempt to do so. But i found he is not up to the mark of his general understanding, behaviour and his speaking ability what should i do.. I took him to one child scyologist they told me to change his diet schedule as he was avoiding any vegetable & fruit in his daily food now we have started this 2 thing in his daily food but i dont see any major development what should wr do now

Ans: Consult a psychologist and speech therapist. Meet your pediatrician to check if there are any nutritional deficiencies so that specific supplements can be started. Changing the diet will not improve speech or understanding. If he speaks normally at home and has performed well in school till now then there is no medical reason. You need to talk to your son about his time in school and his interaction with the teachers

It's been a year since I completed my engineering in mechanical engineering. I am currently unemployed. I keep sending resume through LinkedIn, indeed, monster. I only get rejection replies. I am 61 years old. I regularly get my Cholesterol and Uric Acid checked. For last 2 years the results are almost same. My UA is 7.40mg/DL & Cholesterol is 228 md/DL. I do not have any side effects. I do daily exercises and also try to restrict the diet. Please advice what all things I should do to control these the readings as the results are not varying.

For controlling cholesterol levels, follow a diet rich in fiber which acts as a scavenger to remove accumulated cholesterol in the blood vessels. If we have high blood sugar. Then is it not good to avoid meal and go for fasting . To normalise sugar level. Because anti diabetic drug makes pancreas to release more insulin. Whereas body does not need so high sugar. So is it not better to first skip meal so that sugar becomes normal on its own. Because insulin release by drug stimulation is useless because thee is no requirement of excess sugar by the body. But doctors simply prescribe drug . They do not say that one must try to normalise sugar by reducing food intake. Pl. Clarify ?
