Sir,obc candidate can appear in josaa councilling without 75 percentage in boards or not

Ans: Yes, an OBC candidate can appear in the JoSAA counselling even without securing 75% in their class 12 board exams, provided they meet other eligibility criteria, according to the CSAB. For reserved categories like OBC, the minimum aggregate marks required for JoSAA counselling is 65%, or being in the top 20 percentile of the successful candidates in their respective board exams.

Ans: General category candidates need at least 75% in 12th or be in the top 20 percentile of their board to be eligible for JoSAA counselling.

Sir my son got 70% in boards but we are obc can he get in jee without the 75% requirement if he get a 96 percentile

Ans: The 75% board marks rule is waived for OBC candidates (and other reserved categories) as per JEE eligibility norms.

Your son’s 96 percentile is well above the cutoff, making him eligible for JEE Advanced and admissions to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs through JoSAA counseling.

Final eligibility will be confirmed by the official JEE Main and JoSAA announcements. All the best for your son's admissions & for his bright future!

Some websites shows, that it's not required for obc-ncl candidates to have 75% in 12th boards to get a seat in josaa counselling but some say it's required. what's the correct information
