My OBC NCL rank is 5518.Is there any chance i could get IISER berhampur. The previous year cutoff for IAT for OBC NCL is 4700 this jumped from 2,600(2024 cutoff for OBC NCL) due to increase of 100 seats in IAT. But this year they reduced the seat in IAT (reduced by 20 seats) but they increased in IIT , IIIT, GFTI, NIT drastically upto 4700 seats which is massive so is there a chance I could get this year.

Finally, if you do not have options for CSE, then go with MnC @ BIT Patna

Can I get a better college in Maharashtra Counselling? Based on past cutoff I may able to get KJ Somaiya college of engineering Mumbai AI & DS branch . Which college I should choose out of the above two MUJ or KJ Somaiya ?

Ans: Hope the score mentioned is from JEE (Main), as it is the only one considered for CAP admissions, not your MHT-CET score. OMS candidates compete for All India seats based on JEE Main scores. You can target government colleges for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and other lower-demand branches. For CSE/IT/ECE, good private colleges are an option. It is not possible for us to provide a probable college list at this moment. But you can surely get admission to a decent private college. Just decide the city and choose the preferred colleges with preferred branches.

Ans: If losing the NMIMS fee is a major concern, do not withdraw from NMIMS before the refund deadline, i.e., wait until July 20. If after that you are allotted CSE at MUJ, you can opt for it at the risk of losing a major portion of the fee paid to NMIMS. If you are financially strong, you can take the risk of MUJ admission; else, continue with NMIMS with CE. NMIMS Indore is a decent Tier-3 private engineering college with good academics but average placements, making it a reasonable backup but not on par with MUJ CSE overall. MUJ CSE at 36.2k rank is uncertain, and if MUJ is not allotted, you could end up without either option.

My son got VIT CHENNAI ECE BRANCH, and has a good chance of getting ECE at Dayanand Sagar Engineering College through COMEDK. What is the preferred choice especially regarding hostel facilities?

Ans: It is better to visit both the campus and the hostels to assess their condition before taking admission. If the hostel is not a concern, then prefer ECE @ VIT Chennai.
