I want you to understand that her rejection had nothing to do with you; you did not fall short. Look at it this way: She is already committed to someone else; she rejected you with petty reasons because it would have been unfair to drag you and keep you hooked only to marry the other guy in the end. From an outsider's POV, this saved you a bigger heart break. About feeling loss of confidence: it's understandable. But the moment you realise that it was not at all about you but her prior commitment, you will start feeling confident about yourself again. You deserve someone who will love you with their whole heart. Her rejection is not a reflection of your value.

However, the preference order could be (1) COEP – CSE, as it is a relatively lower-risk option with a strong legacy and Rs.17.31 LPA average CTC in 2024–25; (2) IIIT Gwalior – MnC, although if your son has a strong interest in Mathematics, Computing, AI or related areas, this could even be considered as the first choice; and (3) BITS Pilani – M.Sc. Mathematics, which offers an excellent reputation and academic ecosystem, but involves some uncertainty since a preferred CSE/circuit branch is not guaranteed and depends on first-year performance, besides requiring higher fees and an additional year.
