How can unmarried couples travel together in India without having to face moral policing?

Ans: Dear Anonymous,
Our culture is very partial towards moral policing. We know what our neighbors should do but forget what we should do. Pratice what you preach is only for the wise men, you see...
So, if you go against societal norms and you are caught be prepared for a backlash.
Now, you can be unapologetic about this backlash that you might face (assuming the couple is of a legal age) and be unbothered by it. And if the moral policing bothers you, then avoid crossing that boundary and stay within the limits of what society prescribes.

Well, I’m not going to sit here and tell you to hurt your parents.

If you want to live together before getting married, that is a decision you both have to take as responsible adults; it’s not a decision someone else gets to make for you because of societal pressure.

Why it’s considered wrong in India or anywhere else is not the issue here; doing what is right for your own life is.

Attitudes do change with time and circumstances.

Speak to your parents about it and maybe they’ll come around eventually. If not, well, it’s still ultimately your call to make.

You like Vegetarian food and your friend likes Meat and Fish. What will you do? Go to a place that offers both OR visit two different hotels on different days so that both you and your friend are happy.
Simply find a mid-path where both families are happy. One marriage ceremony in India and one in Nepal...

Sir, OYO has recently banned unmarried couples from renting a hotel. Don't you think this measure is a bit harsh? My fiance and I are planning a trip to Uttar Pradesh this year. Does this mean our booking will be cancelled if they find out that we are not married? What should we do? Please help.

Why do hotels in India disallow unmarried couples? A few months ago, I was travelling with my girlfriend (who was my colleague then, we weren't dating then) on a work trip and suddenly, we received a knock on the door at night asking us to vacate the room in Delhi. It was 2 am and we were sleeping on different beds. There was a partition in the room, yet we were asked to pack and leave because some guest had complained. In the middle of the night no one was willing to offer us a room. It was an odd hour so at 4.30 am, I finally told the manager to let my GF hire a room as we had nowhere to go. I waited in the reception area. Isn't it unsafe to take the booking and then ask us to vacate later? Why is India so rude to unmarried couples? A boy and a girl could also be friends sharing a room to save money!

Each hotel use discretion to allow or disallow an unmarried couple from staying in their premises. There could be various reasons which may include activities which are outside of the law. Now, to what has happened to you is very inconsiderate. My question to you is: while booking, did you look at the hotel policies? If it says: unmarried couples allowed, then whatever has happened can be challenged and you can possibly demand a refund for unfair treatment. If it disallows unmarried couples and they have accommodated you, even then they are in the wrong for going against their own policies and then inconveniencing you.
So, clarity on this will give you an idea as to what exactly happened.
I don't know if India is being rude to unmarried couples as each person will view it through their lens and come to a conclusion as to whether it's right or wrong. Always check the hotel policies before booking.

Ans: Cut-off trends keep varying from year to year. It can't be a constant. If the questions become relatively easy then the cut off mark will go high and if the questions become relatively hard then the cut off marks come down. But no worries. Ans: Based on the data mentioned above, your Tax liability shall be less in Old Tax Regime (about Rs.25,000.00 without Interest etc.) as compared to new tax regime. You should file your ITR accordingly.

I've completed my graduation (B.Sc) from Delhi University, however I've come to realise that my interest lies someplace else, I hold a passion and wish to persue masters in Psychology and be a clinical psychologist down the line, what should be my next steps? Ans: 01. You should have filed your ITR for F/Y 2021-22, without declaring Rs.14.00 lakhs (received as advance), as Income for the year. Please ensure, that you don't claim TDS (if any deducted on this amount). Declare your total Income in F/Y 2022-23 ITR, working out Capital Gains clearly.

Hi, currently in Bangalore with a rental income of 75k and a salary of 25k. Living myself in a rented house of 15k, all expenses combined take away my total income. Have a loan of 10 lakh, on the rental income house and 5 lakh of loan from relatives. which I am finding it difficult to pay off. Hence, I am thinking of shifting to Mysore after selling the rental income house clear the loans and buy a rental income property in Mysore. Is it worth, please advise..

Ans: Your thinking needs re-consideration, due to following factors :
01. You have a monthly income of Rs.1,00,000.00. You should first pay your loan taken from the relatives, may be in installments, over a period of 1-2 years. Then, besides paying EMI on Bank Loan of Rs.10.00 lakhs, you should pay some extra amount to clear your loan as early as possible. You would be quite comfortable after payment of your loans.
02. You already have a rental income property, it won't be advisable to sell it & then find a rental income property in another city.
