I am a 21-year-old fitness and gym freak. I have gained weight during the lockdown and feel depressed that I cannot go to the gym. I don't like seeing myself in the mirror. I have lost shape. Please help to become fit again.

Ans:

It seems you have not been focussing on your fitness. If you are a fitness freak, then how did you put on weight?

You may have lost interest in exercising as there is no lure of going to the gym.

This is very common in the youth as you would feel more motivated in the conducive environment of lavish and fully equipped gyms.

Don't worry; there are many ways to keep doing the exercises if you have the inclination.

There are many fitness videos on home workouts available on social media. Choose the right one and set your priorities. Make a goal and strive towards it.

Indulge in aerobic exercises like running, jogging, etc, which will contribute to fat loss.

Metabolism has to be improved with the right diet. So avoid eating the wrong foods containing high fat and sugar. And stop binge eating!

Once you follow these guidelines, I'm sure you will finally get into shape and be happy to see yourself in the mirror.

Hello I'm a 22-year-old male with a height of 5 feet 2 inches and a skinny body with a weight of just 35 kilograms with a really poor appetite; I do feel really weak and in winter my ribs and knees start hurting a lot, getting stiff, I want to have a muscular build with thicker arms and legs and a body weight of approx 50 kilograms with such low height should I even think of getting to the gym and how much time could it take to achieve so? If yes, then how could I achieve the desired results? How could I fix this poor appetite issue which didn't get resolved even after taking homoeopathy treatment, I've been facing this issue for the last few years where having 3rd chapati becomes such a task for me, also it takes a lot of time for me to finish a plate of rice because my stomach feels full even if I have a little, even having fruits make my stomach full, having a single boiled egg becomes too tough for me. Please guide me through this.
Ans: Hello Anonymous,
If homeopathy has not helped you then please try Ayurveda. There are many people who benefit greatly with Ayurveda in which they first check your body 'prakriti' which is vata, pitta and dosha and which category do you belong too. Accordingly they will start working on the root cause of your poor appetite and gut issues.
There is also something called as 'Kumbhaka pranayama' which could help you a lot.
Please do find out about the Ayurveda and Kumbhaka. I feel these can make you much healthier.
All the best for a wonderful and healthy life ahead!
