I have been working in a company for 5 years and My boss has been changed , my promotion is on hold and he is not ready to give a promotion and suggesting me to move to a different team for promotion if any openings are there. How do I mitigate this situation and it is demotivating me since all my colleagues move to next level, Need your advice,thank you

Ans: Hello

Every company has a policy with regards to promotion in terms of performance and tenure. Also there are clear guidelines to situation like yours. Suggest you educate yourself on the same.

Also you can approach HR and talk to them as they are the custodian of performance management.

By the way if you can share following details may be I can guide better

Type: are you working as a full time employee or on contractual basis which is renewed every 5 years

Industry: Software, Airline, MRO

City: Tier 1 (Mumbai, Bangalore) or Tier 2 (Nagpur

Given that you have been with the company for 5 years shows you are stable and strong person who looks at career as a marathon, so don't lose heart. You will do excellent. Believe in yourself. Be Bold Be Strong.

Rajesh, I am stuck in a senior role for a long time. I know I am skilled and qualified to be the next manager but the company is somehow finding reasons to delay my promotion. They are now hiring and training someone new for the role which I feel is unfair. Should I talk to the HR about this?

Ans: Hi, you should speak with your reporting manager and try and understand your growth map. Be proactive in presenting your plans for the future and how you plan to add value in the new role. Also, ask your reporting manager as to what he/she and the company expect from him to be able to go to the next level. Pls Speak to the HR on the basis of feedback received and if needed arranging the training sessions that would help you upskill. Having said this i would also recommend you update your cv and start attending interviews discreetly. If you have an offer in hand, you would be more confident while negotiating/speaking with your current company.

I have been working in a company in Finance Department at GM Level for more than 12 years and i have got promotion in 3rd year (DGM to GM) in the company. My boss has been changed thrice. My current boss does not respect my area profile which is compliance, FS preparation, dealing auditors. He only understand business financial reporting. I work with the rule of law/book and sometime I got adamant as this is my nature of job is. My promotion is on hold and he is not ready to give a promotion. Instead, he is suggesting me to move to a different team for promotion if any openings are there. Few are even non-qualified one. How do I mitigate this situation? It is demotivating and frustrating now now working in the organisation since few my colleagues or people under me have moved to the next level and few reached at the level where I am. Managing boss is a skill that we all need to learn. Suggest you learn this skill.

You said you are adamant, that's a good awareness and also acceptance so start working on that...try and change your adamant nature to lme of more accommodation one.

Lastly, sit with your boss, make him your companion, ask him for feedback and support and most important also share your approach and try and strike a common ground.

Hello sir this is Nishat , I passed my 12th in the year 2023 with a good percentage but however I couldn’t see it for chemistry exam. So obviously I failed in that subject so I decided to again reappear for that exam and in 2024 I gave betterment exam from my state board in the subject biology and chemistry. However I scored far better in biology than last time but (Chemistry) I don’t know maybe it’s it’s because of the issues that we have with our board. I couldn’t score good marks so even I had decided to give (Chemistry) separately and so in 2024. I again set for (Chemistry) exam under nios I and I scored 80 so now the thing is that I’ll be having two mark sheet so while applying in need I cannot possibly select the code 2 because although I already have the state board certificate but the NIOS certificate is not yet out and it will be out by end of the March sir can I possibly select the code one that is appearing or will it create problems while counselling or is there any other option please help me out sir , I’m very desperate like I have prepared for neey for the last two years and I don’t want to put my hard work into vain. Please Sir help me out

Please select code 1 without any fear. Focus more on your study. But considering your fear and anxiety with the chemistry subject, it is recommended that you choose other options than NEET. This time you appear without any fear.
