I am 35 years old and have diploma in mechanical engineering and working in a MNC, i am facing hardship in work and family life and have been working in the same company for 14 years, have i become scared ? Many people are asking why i havent switched job i do wish but i feel i have stuck myself somewhere and become very relaxed in life i am really confused

Ans: Hello

Just because you have ben with a company for 14 years doesn't mean you are relaxed...it means you are dedicated and committed employee...

As long as you are enjoying your work, don't give too much importance to what others are saying.

You haven't shared what kind of hardships you are facing in job, if ok with you please do share that.

All the best.

Dear Ashwini, I am stuck in the same job for 10 years. I want to move on but I am scared to face an interview panel. I feel like I am not ready. Can you please help?
Ans: Hi,

Thank you for the question. Hope you are doing well.
Feeling nervous about facing an interview is completely normal, especially if you haven't been through the process for a long time. However, it's important to remember that change and growth often require stepping outside of our comfort zones.
Here are some steps you can take to prepare yourself and gain confidence for interviews:
1- Reflect on your achievements- Take stock of your accomplishments and skills gained during your 10 years in your current job. Recognize your strengths, areas of expertise, and valuable experiences. This self-reflection will help boost your confidence and provide material to discuss during interviews.
2- Research the job market: Spend time understanding the current job market trends, requirements, and industry expectations. Identify the skills and qualifications that employers are seeking in applicants for the positions you're interested in. This knowledge will help you align your preparation accordingly and help you be interview ready.
3- Brush up on interview techniques: Refresh your knowledge of common interview questions and practice answering them. You can find resources online that provide lists of frequently asked questions. Practice responding to these questions either by yourself, with a friend or family member, or consider engaging with a professional interview coach (as an option). This will again help you get ready for the interview/s. To go one step further you can also ask a friend or a family member to conduct mock interviews with you. This will help you get the experience and become more comfortable with the interview process and improve your responses.
Remember, facing an interview panel can be intimidating, but with adequate preparation, practice, and a positive mindset, you can increase your chances of success. Don't be too hard on yourself if you stumble along the way—it's all part of the learning process. Take the experiences and learnings and move ahead. Good luck with your job search!

Hope this helps. To Your Success. Be You. Be Confident.

Hello Sir, I am 39 years old, married and have 10 years old daughter. I work in a BPO (Risk and Compliance Department) since I was 23. Since I was not ambitious during my college days and till now I have no goals, no aim, no passion, the current job I find it very boring. I am stucked at an Analyst level since last 17 years. Also, with lot of family issues at my home, my mind does not work openly and have stucked in the comfort zone. I am a hard working person but not smart working. My wife is a housewife and have no other income other than my job. I want to grow, do lots of hard working but due to lack of self confidence, I always have a fear to get at TL or Manager level. Also, I am not sure which industry I have interest in. It is only since 17 years, I am doing this job, I tell everybody that I am from a BPO sector. But I really want to earn more so that I can fulfill my family needs but please help me in which direction I should go and Howww? I know at the age of 40, I cannot start working in a new sector with no prior experience but really is it too late to change the sector? and if no, Please suggest me any industry where I can start from scratch, learn new things and can work with great interest and can grow myself.
Ans: I find your first few sentences very negative. Please get a hold of yourself and regain your lost confidence. To start from scratch at this stage is not advisable but one can branch off into related fields about which you know the best. Change your attitude, think positive and the solutions will come to you! Other than this is really cannot suggest anything specific since the information given is inadequate.
