You haven’t mentioned your financial circumstances, but if your son is determined to pursue fields like Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning, and if merit-based options don’t materialize, admission through the management quota could be a viable alternative. This route is typically available in reputed private engineering colleges, though it comes with a higher financial commitment.
Before considering this option seriously, I would recommend waiting for the results of all the remaining entrance exams. Ans: For Computer Engineering, Thapar University is generally considered a better option compared to VIT Chennai in category 5, especially for CSE core, due to factors like stronger alumni networks, better placement opportunities, and a potentially higher average salary. While both offer good programs, Thapar's placement records and industry connections may provide a stronger advantage for securing good jobs. Lot of hardware is not there in B.Tech level.

(1) If you are expecting 240, and BITs is providing you with a decent branch, then consider enrolling in any of its campuses.
(2) If you are from MS, you may have also taken the MHT-CET. Achieving a higher score in this exam will significantly enhance your opportunities within Maharashtra.
(3) If you are not satisfied with your MHT-CET score, consider taking the BITSAT instead.
(4) Keep the VIT option as a backup only.
Suggestion- It is advisable to prioritize either the BITSAT or MHT-CET options.
