I am LADA patient since 2010. Taking Bosul n Basel insulin doses. Am having good diet control, however sugar doesn't remain under control. Insulin dose need to be increased every few quarters particularity during winter. Please suggest better ways. Apurva Rughani

Ans: If confirmed LADA, basal bolus is one of the best regimens to optimise the glucose levels. Diet and exercise/ walking also needs to be followed well. You neeed to discuss with your Dr in detail which part of the management plan needs modification.

Hi i am a Diabetic age 46 please advise how to control sugar level suffering from last 15+ years ?

Ans: Hello. Diet, exercise, good sleep and some medications.
Diet: low carb as much as possible. Avoid any packaged or processed foods/ artificial foods.
Exercise: 45 kin to 1 hour daily moderate exercise, 2 days a week strength training
Sleep: 6-8 hours daily.
Stress relief: yoga, meditation, hobby
Medications: As prescribed by your doctor with regular checkup at least once in 3 months.

Ans: Blood sugar levels of 250 to 350mg/dl are out of range. You should consult your family doctor. Dietary control is important , thus start the day with some whole grains like whole wheat, whole oats, millets, etc.
Eat more fiber rich foods like vegetables and fruits. Include beans/legumes which are an excellent source of slowly digested carbohydrate as well as a great source of lean protein. Substitute for meat 1-2 times per week. Avoid sugar and high fat foods like cakes, pastries, chocolates, savories, aerated water, alcohol, etc. Follow a regular exercise regimen to lower body fat.

I am suffering for 27y with type 2 and my sugar level goes up and down very frequently. My hbiac is 8.5 I'm unable to control it.I am on two times on insulin. Lantus for 24hrs and Hummalog lispro. Ans: Avoid sugar, honey and jaggery in the diet
- Avoid processed & packaged foods
- Reduce the overall carb consumption - which also includes millets
- Include protein & healthy fat with all your meals
- Excercise regularly - 30min/day and include weight training - 3times/week
- Quality sleep - 8hrs/day
- Manage stress

Putting diabetes into remission if it is in early stage of diabetes or pre-diabetic stage, remission is potentially achievable

Hai Kamalji, I am Thomas, 61 Years Old Please advice me to control the Diabetics with following situation. I had Post COVID pneumonia and had diabetics. now I am taking Insulin in the morning and night with 15 unites. Now taking food as follows Morning :- 2 Idly or Dosa or Boiled Banana or Reva Uppuma Afternoon :- Vegetable Curry Evening :- One Cup Tea with Milk Night :- 2 Apple, Papaya (Fruits) I am taking the diet as above. But the sugar level is not coming down. Also the weight is gaining. I had effected severe and was in ventilator for 22 days. Heavy dose of steroid is injected while in the treatment time.it was in March 2021. Physical exercise also reduced due to Knee issue. Even though the HbA1c is around 7.4 to 7.6 Kindly suggest the diet modification to control the diabetics at this stage.

Ans: In order to maintain normal blood sugar levels, follow a high fiber, low carbohydrate, adequate protein and low fat diet. Include foods like vegetables, fruits, whole grains, pulses and legumes, nuts, etc. Avoid having too many fruits in a day. Have small frequent meals. Make sure that Idly, Dosa etc. is made from oats, or whole grains than rice as they have a high glycemic index. High protein foods are important to blunt the glycemic index so include eggwhites, low fat dairy products, soya, etc.

I sold my father's house for Rs 2.30 crores and bought another house for 1 crore 40 lakhs Out of the amount I received for my sold property I transferred 28 lakhs to my sister's account as a gift from my side Pls note i just transferred the money didn't give it like a gift deed How much tax would I need to pay

Ans: I understand that you got flat in inheritance as legal hair as sole owner of property for income tax purpose. In case entire capital gain amount is invested in another property as per specified conditions, no tax on gain amount of property.

Further with reference gift deed, tax will not depend on execution of deed, however, it is advisable to execute gift deed.
