I am not able to have sound sleep for last 2 months,always irrelevant dreams come as soon as I go to sleep,my age is 53 years,what to do

Ans: Dear Anonymous,
Disturbed sleep is a result of:
- A day filled with a lot of mental strain
- Not much or no physical exercise
- Sleep during daytime
- Heavy dinner with not much gap between that meal and sleep
- Absence or too much of certain hormones that interfere with sleep
- Certain medications that are known to cause sleep changes
the list may go on...

Dreams and dreams and in my opinion, you can't influence them (though I am not an expert on dreams)...Filling your mind with more of positive things during the day and a fair amount of meditation can bring restful sleep. If symptoms do persist, do visit a doctor BUT my suggestion is to not hook yourself into sleep medications as they are habit forming. So, do what it takes to ease yourself better during the day.
