Left job in 2008 after 14 years of service and till then i was registered in PF and got Pension eligible certificate after leaving service. As per the certificate i was eligible for pension from Mar-2025. From 2009 to 2025 have done job in a company where there is not PF account. Now i want to enrol me for pension and Form 10-D is submitted by me. PF office replied my that i have to get the form signed from my employer which is not existed now nor i have any contacts of any employee of the company. After lots of deliberation came to know that the company is wind up few years back and i have no idea or information about the whereabout of the company. Now, my question is as to how i can get myself enrol in pension without being certified by the employer? I belief there must be some mechanism available for getting pension without certified by the employer. It has been more than 17 years i left the organization and now how can get in touch with the company which is wind up. Kindly suggest me with your suitable reply.

Ans: Hi Swapan,

Getting certified from employer is the only way for you to get pension. Otherwise it will be forfeited.

You can visit the nearest EPFO and look for an alternative, if any. But certiication is necessary.

hi, i have worked 5 different companies starting from 01.02.1992 to 31.08.2012 and contributed to PF as per the policy. i have passbook of PF account but only amount of last company is reflecting in the passbook. I have withdrawn EPF balance but EPS part is still not withdrawn from any company. my last company has not updated the records from previous companies, . i am getting 58 years next on 29042024. i have account with EPFO and UAN. How can i get the amount accumulated or get the scheme certificate or start pension at reduced rates...i am working with a company but not registered with PF.
Ans: Given your situation, consolidating and tracking your EPF contributions and benefits can be a bit challenging but certainly manageable. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you navigate this:

Consolidation of UAN: If you have a UAN (Universal Account Number), ensure that all your previous PF accounts are linked to it. You can do this by logging into the EPFO portal and checking the 'Manage' tab under 'For Employees'. If your previous companies have not linked your UAN to their establishment IDs, you can request them to do so.
Transfer of EPF: Use the EPFO's online transfer portal to transfer the EPF accumulations from your previous accounts to your current PF account. This will consolidate all your PF accumulations into one account, making it easier to manage and track.
EPS (Employee Pension Scheme): Since you have not withdrawn the EPS contributions from any of your previous employers, you can apply for a scheme certificate through your current employer. A scheme certificate provides details of your service and contributions and can be used to avail pension benefits at the age of 58.
Pension at Reduced Rates: If you opt for pension before attaining the age of 58, it would be at a reduced rate. However, if you choose to defer it, your pension amount will increase. You can apply for a reduced pension through your current employer or directly with the EPFO after completing Form 10D.
Contact EPFO: If you face any issues or discrepancies in your PF accounts, reach out to the EPFO regional office or helpdesk. Provide them with the necessary details and documents, including your UAN, PF account numbers, and service details with each employer.
Consult a Financial Advisor: Given the complexities involved in EPF and EPS, consulting a financial advisor or a retirement planner can be beneficial. They can guide you through the process, help you understand the implications of withdrawing or transferring your EPF and EPS accumulations, and assist you in making informed decisions regarding your retirement benefits.
Remember, it's essential to keep track of your EPF and EPS contributions and benefits to ensure you maximize your retirement benefits and make informed decisions. Taking proactive steps now can help you secure a comfortable retirement.

Physiotherapist - Answered on Jun 13, 2026

I have asked this question 3 weeks ago and still no response. Please can someone address this. Hi health expert, I have been struggling with severe health anxiety for many years now. I am currently in my mid-40s and I think this started after a traumatic experience around 10–12 years ago. We had gone on a family vacation and shortly after returning my uncle fell seriously ill. After diagnosis we found out he had advanced stage cancer and we lost him within a few months. The shock of that experience affected me deeply and ever since then I have lived with an intense fear of cancer and serious illness. Even small things like a stomach ache, a pimple, swelling, fever, or any unusual sensation trigger extreme fear in me. I immediately start thinking the worst and it causes sleepless nights and constant worry. This has seriously affected my quality of life. Along with the anxiety, my OCD symptoms also become very intense during these phases. It feels like there’s a voice in my head constantly telling me to perform certain rituals like praying immediately, drinking water at a specific moment, not switching off the AC, or doing random actions “or else” something bad will happen. It becomes mentally exhausting, and at times I struggle to function normally in my daily routine. I have consulted several psychiatrists and psychologists over the years, but I still feel unhappy and stuck. I am reaching out here to ask if anyone has experienced something similar or found anything that genuinely helped whether coping techniques, home remedies, calming practices, or anything else that brought some peace and stability. Basically I am looking for some home remedy and also want to check is this something rare or they are people who goi through this.
Ans: Dear Sir/ Madam. Thank you for reaching out. I am responding as Physiotherapist which is allied health care professional and not as core medical professional. As a physiotherapist, I want you to know that what you're experiencing is not rare many people live with this cycle of health anxiety ..A simple but powerful home remedy is diaphragmatic breathing: inhale slowly for 4 seconds, hold for 2, exhale for 6 seconds, repeating for 5–10 minutes whenever a trigger arises. Progressive muscle relaxation (tensing and releasing each muscle group from toes to head) can also calm your nervous system and break the urge to perform rituals. Gentle, mindful walking outdoors for 15–20 minutes daily helps ground you in physical sensations rather than fearful thoughts. I strongly recommend to also visit a Psychiatrist as well as clinical psychologist specializing in exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy, which is highly effective for health anxiety. Additionally, consult family physician to rule out any underlying medical issues, which may ease your fears. Keep taking small steps. I wish you quick recovery
