Can meditation be done all the time ? I mean if am sitting in office or travelling in metro , with moderate noise ??? Thanks in advance

Ans: Yes, you can practice soft meditation, like Shanthi, in places like the office or metro. Focus on simple techniques such as mindful breathing or awareness of your body. However, if you attempt in-depth meditation in these settings, it may take time for you to fully return to your senses, which could create problems. That's why it’s important to learn meditation with a proper guru, who will guide you on when and how to practice deeper forms safely.

Dear Roopashree, A lot of people advocate meditation. Can you please tell me the right way and the right time to do meditation? I have tried but I get distracted very easily. Also, how exactly does meditation help us? Thanks,

The morning hours are the best to practise meditation for very simple reasons.

At dawn, it’s peaceful and there are limited distractions.

Since 2-6 am is the Kapha period, our digestive fire is low. The previous meal has been digested by now so you will feel light and fresh.

In case you miss the morning hours, you can meditate before going to sleep, provided you have an early dinner (at least 2-3 hours before you plan to practise).

Learning meditation takes years and you need a good teacher.

You can start with simple breathing techniques; try to concentrate on your breath as you inhale and exhale.

The mind will keep wandering, thoughts will keep coming but continue to focus on your breath.

Gradually, your concentration will increase and you will be able to meditate.

Do try and enrol with a good teacher so that you get the wholistic yoga experience which goes beyond asanas.

Ans: Considering your age, it is good to have a Consultation and check your HbA1 C which points towards your blood sugar in the previous three months.
Before starting medication you need to check on your lifestyle and realign that too

Ans: Yes, yoga and meditation can certainly help you relax and get better sleep. But before that it is important to identify what could be the reasons for poor quality sleep. Basic sleep hygiene practices are also important - such as not taking caffeine or naps after 4pm, minimizing anything that'll put you in an alert state around bed time such as intense exercise or work discussions, cool room at around 21C, room to be dark with minimal disturbance, getting appropriate sunlight exposure upon waking up, going to bed at the same time each day and getting out of bed at the same time. And if you have a habit of thinking/worrying/planning while lying in bed yoga/pranayama/meditation can help you come into a nice relaxed state conducive to sleep. Look up guided practices like body scan, and yoga nidra. You can also explore Pranayama such as Bhramari. All the best!

I am 64 yrs old retired person, having worked for 11 years in a private firm from Feb 1998 to Sept 2008. There was no UAN no introduced at that time. After leaving, I withdrew EPF contribution, however towards contributions to EPS I received Pension Scheme certificate for drawing pension after attaing 58 yrs. I attained 58 yrs in Oct 2018, but didn't apply for pension & neither for Scheme certificate with arears. I worked in 3 more private companies for less than 10yrs in each company & withdrew PF contribution after leaving. Finally in Oct 2020 I retired from the last company after putting in 9.5 yrs service with a UAN no. & claimed back the PF & Pension contribution made during the tenure. Please advise as to how i can claim back my EPS Scheme Certificate along with the arears for the period 2018 when I attained 58 yrs till date & also regularize monthly pension. Kindly guide & help, as i am in severe financial crisis but since last 2 years running pillar to post for assistance, but failed.

I was duped of some 8L rs by fraudster and had completed the legal process where in court has ordered indusind bank and bank of Maharashtra to refund me money which is held by them..it been more than month since order was issued still no update is available from bank regarding credit back of the amount in my account.what next I should do..

Sell some of your asset like land, gold or vehicle to repay the loan on priority.

Don't borrow to repay existing loans. Restructure the loans or seek a moratorium till you get a job.

Borrow funds from family and friends explaining your mistakes and promise to repay once you get another job.

Keep in mind the old saying to cut your cloth as per your size and act accordingly.

You are eligible for JEE (Adv) and there will be no effect on the counseling process provided that you must fulfill all the criteria laid by the IIT institutions.
