Hi, I am 53 years old and having 116 kg weight and my height is 5.8'' how I can reduce my weight in a faster matter. If u can help

Ans: Weight reduction should be aimed by increasing muscle mass and lowering body fat. It is a gradual process which should be monitored by a professional and not deteriorate health of an individual. Follow a balanced diet with focus on more complex carbohydrates and fiber rich foods like fruits and vegetables, whole grain cereals, etc., sources of protein rich foods like low fat dairy products, lean meat, eggs, pulses and legumes and low but healthy fats like olive or mustard or canola oil, etc. Avoid sweets, chocolates, alcohol, soft drinks, fruit juices, fatty foods, etc. which would add to your fat percentage by contributing empty calories. A regular exercise regimen will bring about building of lean mass and burn extra calories.

my age is 50 & weight is 75 KGs. Height is 5 feet 4 inch. i am not taking any type of medicine. i walk daily 10000 steps but not in one go. please suggest me to reduce weight.....
Ans: Hey Amar,

To lose weight, you need to create a calorie defict. Which means you need to eat less than what your body burns. Sounds technical but if you just follow your body's hunger-satiation signals it should be good. There are a couple of ways you can manage to feel full
1. Have a glass of water 15-20 min before your meals. This will help you understand exactly how hungry you are when you sit to eat your main meals.
2. Have a balanced meal. Have 2 servings of vegetables (salads/sabzi), 1 serving of protein and 1 serving of carbohydrates (roti/rice). This will ensure you don't over eat and exceed your caloric requirements
3. Remove 30 minutes for exercise at least 5-6 days a week. We cannot eat very less calories since that can compromise our nutrient intake and create deficiencies in long run. And exercise is the simplest form to create calorie deficit to compliment your fat loss journey.
4. Try to sleep before 12am. Sleep plays a very vital role in your fat loss journey. Research states that inadequate sleep leads to fat gain and also, excess caloric intake. So clock in 7-9 hours of good quality sleep.
5. If you routine is stressful then ensure to practise deep breathing exercise, or yoga or meditation to manage stress. Cortisol (stress hormone) is responsible for fat deposition around the belly. So manage your stress levels and prioritise mental health.

Losing weight is simple, all it requires is discipline and consistency. And the journey doesn't end when you achieve that number on your weighing scale. I always give an example of income. For income, you need a job, if you lose the job you lose your income. The same way if you want to sustain weight, you need to keep the diet and lifestyle healthy forever. So, keep the diet sustainable. :)

I'm in a time crunch and need to choose between Manipal Jaipur and Jain University Bangalore for BTech CSE. I'm confused about which is better for studying abroad opportunities and a strong IT career. Please help and I reside in blr
Ans: Manipal University Jaipur, part of the MAHE Institute of Eminence, holds NBA Tier-1 and NAAC A+ accreditations and offers credit and non-credit student exchange programs with 30+ partner universities across Australia, Europe, North America and Asia, enabling third- and fourth-year CSE students with CGPA > 7 to earn external credits and build global academic networks. Its CSE curriculum includes specializations in AI/ML, Data Science, Cybersecurity and IoT, supported by 12 advanced labs and 120 faculty members engaged in international research collaborations. JAIN University Bangalore, NAAC A+ and UGC-recognized, maintains MoUs with Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), IIIT Hyderabad (Modern ML minor), GeeksforGeeks and YARSI University (Indonesia), facilitating semester exchanges, joint workshops, hackathons and dual-degree options for cross-border academic immersion. Situated in Bengaluru, JAIN offers easier local access to mentorship and preparatory resources for GRE/TOEFL and leverages global apprenticeship ties.

Recommendation: For maximized MS abroad opportunities through structured credit transfers (subject to final confirmation by you with MUJ), a broader partner network and IoE status, choose Manipal Jaipur’s CSE; for Bengaluru residency, direct industry-academic linkages in AI/ML minors and flexible exchange modules, opt for JAIN University Bangalore. All the BEST for Admission & a Prosperous Future!
