Ans: Your son currently is at a nascent stage & the career options are wide for him. It would be ideal for him to first understand his interest areas so that by the time he is in his 10th grade he has some clarity whether he would like to choose a career in the Sciences, Commerces or/& Humanities

Hello Sir, my son is studying in Std 10th. He is applying in Feb 2025 board. I request to please suggest good career path for him. To know more about him. He is interested more interested in Computers and Science Chemistry. He also likes to read history and eager to explore old heritage cultures. He score more than 70% in school exams. We are confused which field he should choose Medical or Engg or Something else. Request for your advice and guidance.

Ans: Hi Imran
Ask your son to focus on the 10th exam and excel in it.
Take the admission to the science stream and ask him to join all PCMB subjects.
He will tell you whether he is comfortable in Biology or Mathematics. Accordingly, the Medical or Engineering side can be decided/chosen. Don't think much today. At least wait for one more year.
If he is interested in computers, then ask him to join some online/offline programming-related courses.
If he likes history, ask him to go through the book- Constitution of India.

The board whether CBSE or IB won't make any difference or will have any added advantage in getting admission abroad. I have many students who were in CBSE or ICSE till 10th then switched to Maharashtra State Board in 12th and pursued admission from MIT USA & other esteemed universities.

He can continue with his current board without any hesitation.

Sir, my son is bsc chemistry, now he wanted to change his stream to IT. Certificate course at IIT in minor in computer science and then certificate course in cloud computing at IIT. Let him speak to his College faculty to check if he can switch to a BCA program. Simultaneously explore if IITs offer any programs in Comp Science or Cloud Computing for BSc pass.
