Hi Khevna madam, Iam a mechanical engineer from Bangalore aged 49 years, during starting of my career, worked for 2 MNCs in Sales & Marketing, then started my own business and running it for last 20 years , but now due to unethical and unhealthy competitions in my field, iam not sure how iam going to continue in my business, iam good in technical learning, negotiations and strategies..plz advise me if i can look for a job suiting my background after such a long period of owning a business or can I get a freelance marketing job in industrial sectors? Iam also very good in technical and nontechnical content writing..iam very much in a confused state, plz help

Ans: Sure of course you can reboot and get back to the corporate world. Be sure to be able to explain clearly what you've been upto (your learnings, setbacks, strengths, skills) in your entrepreneurial venture and you may surprisingly find it as an additional feather in your cap instead of being weighed down by it.

First thing though, that I'd suggest, is to clear your head and pick your lane - what is it that you want to pursue: freelance marketing or content writing or sales and then draw up your resume to take it from there.

Ans: Dear Harsha,

I understand your situation and the challenges you're facing in your business. It can be difficult and overwhelming to navigate the job market after a long period of running your own business, but there are options available to you.

Your background in sales and marketing, as well as your skills in technical learning, negotiations, and strategies, could be valuable assets in a variety of industries. You may want to consider looking for a full-time job in a sales or marketing role, or even in a related technical field. Additionally, with your skills in technical and non-technical writing, you may be able to find freelance work in marketing or content writing.

It's important to remember that no one job or career path is set in stone, and it's never too late to explore new opportunities. You may also want to consider seeking guidance from a career counselor or mentor, who can help you evaluate your skills and interests, and suggest potential career paths that align with your goals and strengths.

I hope this helps. Good luck, and stay positive!

Best regards,
Abhishek

My son has got 91 percentile in the recent jee exam , he has next attempt in april, but i feel its difficult for him , can i know about other good colleges in karnataka , as im based their. interested in computer science and aeronautical degree, also advise some recent good courses for his career in india.
Ans: Hello Manoj.
Do not get stressed at this stage. Even though his score is 91 percentile in 1st attempt, he can do well in 2nd attempt. But from the safer side, ask him to appear in the Karnataka State Engineering Entrance Examination also. Even if he scores less in JEE on 2nd attempt, he may good college via the state entrance examination in CSE or aeronautical engineering as per your wish. For your reference, there are 10 colleges in India where you can get admission without a JEE score. To know more details, please copy and paste the following link into your browser- https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/education/news/10-engineering-colleges-in-india-for-pursuing-btech-without-jee-main-2025-score/articleshow/118162587.cms.
There are no such courses to be called as recent. The choice of courses depends upon the interest of your son. Hence there is no need to hurry and get into panic at this stage. Let him appear for both exams first, Ask about his interests, and then choose the course accordingly. I would be happy to suggest you after knowing his scores in JEE+State entrance + his liking.
Till then, ask him to focus only on two engineering entrance exams. Best of luck to your son for upcoming exams.

If satisfied with the reply, please like and follow me, else ask again.
Thanks
