Ashwini, I am an MBA graduate from a lesser known college. I have been applying to several jobs. The thing is, I have attended at least 15 interviews in the last two months for various roles. I am told my skillsets are a good match but somehow the HRs never revert. I feel like I am ghosted all the time. Why don't HRs reveal the status of your application? How long should I wait for a callback before I apply to another job?

Ans: Dear Sir/ Madam,

This is quite a common challenge with HR's. Keep chasing and ask for the feedback. If there is no revert continue with the search.

Multiple reasons why HR's dont revert-

Volume of applications
Lengthy or delayed process
Lack of feedback culture

Important is you focus on what you can control. In the given situation you can not control if there is no revert. What you can control- following up with the HR for sometime/ apply other jobs/ keep networking/ work on yourself.

Hi mam , I am a fresher and i have recently attended an interview in an MNC and after successful interview they didn't reach me out . Then after a week i just followed up with the hr and she asked to fill an application form and send it with other educational documents and done some background research i think so, and again she opened a portal for job application in the career site and asked me to apply there. Its been 3 days since applied. So the response is not yet given what should i assume from this.

Ans: Hi Sir/ Madam,

The hiring process in large organizations can be lengthy and time consuming due to various processes and protocols.

Few steps can be considered-

Regular follow up- you can do regular follow up's in intervals.
HR receives multiple applications for one position and it may take time for them to screen the shortlist the candidate
Consider other opportunities in the mean time so you have the back up ready just incase if this opportunity does not fall in your favour.
Have patience and be calm. Interview processes can be lengthy and it may happen at times you may not get the appropriate response from the organization .

Please know that hiring processes differe organization to organization and could be several reasons for the delay. There is nothing to worry about it instead invest the energy in preparing for other skills/ interviews / opportunities. Continue to stay positive in your search and approach. If you don't receive a response within a reasonable timeframe, you may consider reaching out for an update.

AI is at work today and sorts out applications based on the JOB DESCRIPTION, if you don't have the requisite, as per JD you won't get a reply from mundane organisation's.. Don't worry be happy.. Tks a lot for the clear answers to my queries regarding transmission of shares. However, I would like some more clarification on custodial account for shares entitled to C. Custodial account for C will mean a brokerage account in name of C under guardianship of B or an account in name of B but under some category called as Custodial accounts? Alternatively, can the shares entitled for C be sold by B as C's legal guardian and then the sale proceeds be brought in India directly in a bank account in name of C under B's guardianship? Thanks in advance for the support.

Ans: A custodial account for shares typically means a brokerage account held in the name of the minor (C) but managed by the guardian (B). This allows the guardian to oversee the account and make investment decisions on behalf of the minor.
Alternatively, the shares entitled to C can indeed be sold by B as C's legal guardian. The proceeds from the sale can then be brought into India and deposited into a bank account in C's name, under B's guardianship. However, it's important to ensure that all legal requirements and permissions are met, especially if the shares are part of a larger estate or property.

Ans: 01. Yes. This transaction would be subject to Capital Gain Tax.
02. Under present provisions of Income Tax Act, you may opt any of the options (in case of Long Term Capital Gains), as under :
(a). Tax Rate 12.50% without indexation or
(b). Tax Rate of 20% with Indexation.
03. You may calculate your tax liability under both options & may opt for the tax regime, where tax liability is minimum.

Ans: Wash Sale Rule says that the Shares or Securities, which you first sold in crash market & then repurchased the same/similar securities, your transaction of sold shares will not be treated as a Sale for Income Tax purpose.

Interest income of FD in non earning housewife's name is taxable in the hand of husband under clubbing of income. But as of now bank FD can not be opened without PAN number, so TDS deducted is only reflected in her pan account. So how clubbing of income will get reduced by the tds deducted in husband's it liability?

Ans: Under normal circumstances, Interest Income form bank deposits is not clubbed with the income of her husband, unless the amount of deposit has been transferred by her husband to her without any consideration.
Separate ITR needs to be filed in her case & you can claim TDS in her account.

Ans: You would be eligible for exemption u/s 54 in this case, provided you complete the construction on plot in Mysore, with in three years from the date of sale of plot in Kerala. If complete amount of LTCG is invested in construction the house at Mysore, no tax would be payable.
