Abt health insurance we do have cover from our company itself do I need to personally opt for the same?

Ans: While having health insurance coverage from your company is beneficial, it's essential to evaluate its adequacy and portability. Personal health insurance ensures continuity of coverage during job transitions and provides customized benefits tailored to your family's needs.

Additionally, personal health insurance offers flexibility in choosing hospitals and treatments, ensuring comprehensive coverage for unforeseen medical expenses.

Therefore, considering the uncertainties of job security and the importance of comprehensive health coverage, it's advisable to supplement your company-provided health insurance with a personal policy for enhanced financial protection.

I have a corporate mediclaim policy of Rs 15 lakh. Do I still need to buy personal insurance for my family and myself?
Ans: Having a corporate mediclaim policy is undoubtedly beneficial, but it may not cover all your needs adequately. Here are some reasons why you might still consider purchasing personal insurance for yourself and your family, despite having a corporate mediclaim policy:

1. Coverage Limitations: Corporate policies often come with coverage limits, and these may not be sufficient for your family's needs, especially in case of severe medical emergencies or prolonged treatments.

2. Job Change: If you change your job or your employer changes the insurance provider, there could be a gap in coverage, leaving you and your family uninsured temporarily.

3. Portability: Personal health insurance policies are usually portable, meaning you can carry them forward even if you switch jobs or companies, ensuring continuity of coverage.

4. Tailored Coverage: Personal insurance allows you to tailor coverage according to your specific needs, including adding riders for critical illness, maternity benefits, or other specialised treatments which may not be covered under a corporate policy.

5. Family Coverage: While corporate policies might extend coverage to your family, the coverage amount might be inadequate, and having a separate family floater policy ensures comprehensive coverage for all members.

6. Pre-existing Conditions: Corporate policies may have restrictions on coverage for pre-existing conditions, whereas personal policies often offer coverage after a waiting period.

7. Comprehensive Coverage: Personal policies often offer a broader range of coverage options, including outpatient expenses, alternative treatments, and more extensive network hospitals, which may not be available under corporate policies.

8. Continuity of Coverage: In case of job loss or retirement, personal insurance ensures continuity of coverage without any gaps.

9. Tax Benefits: Personal health insurance premiums are eligible for tax deductions under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act, providing additional financial benefits.

10. Control and Flexibility: Personal insurance policies offer greater control and flexibility in choosing coverage options, network hospitals, and policy terms compared to corporate policies, which are generally standardized for all employees.

While having a corporate mediclaim policy is undoubtedly advantageous, it's essential to assess your family's healthcare needs comprehensively and consider supplementing it with personal insurance to ensure adequate coverage and financial protection in the long term.

I have a question could you please help me with this? As im 33 years old, recently took a 2cr term insurance for family protection. As im a corporate employee current company provides a health insurance for me and spouse. Im paying extra amount for parents health insurance in the same company beacuse it will be applicable from day 1. Should i take separate health insurance for me and spouse and parents as well. Note: parents are dependent on me Thanks
Ans: It's great that you've taken a term insurance policy for family protection. As a corporate employee, your company-provided health insurance for you and your spouse is a good benefit. However, relying solely on employer-provided health insurance may not be sufficient for several reasons.

First, employer-provided health insurance is contingent on your employment. If you switch jobs or face job loss, you may lose coverage, which can be risky. It's wise to have a separate health insurance policy for yourself and your spouse to ensure continuous coverage, regardless of employment status.

Second, company health insurance policies often have coverage limits that may not be adequate for severe or prolonged illnesses. A separate health insurance policy can provide higher coverage and more comprehensive benefits, ensuring better financial protection during medical emergencies.

Moreover, it's advantageous to take separate health insurance while you are still healthy. Securing a policy now means you'll likely get better coverage and lower premiums, which will benefit you significantly during retirement when health issues are more common.

Regarding your parents, since they are dependent on you, it's prudent to have a dedicated health insurance policy for them. Employer-provided health insurance might have limitations on the coverage for dependents, especially for senior citizens, and could be insufficient for their healthcare needs.

In summary, having separate health insurance for yourself, your spouse, and your parents ensures continuous, comprehensive coverage and financial protection against medical expenses, both now and in retirement.

Can My Son Get NIT Or CSE With 88.87percentile in JEE Mains (GM)? Obc Ncl category
Ans: Pramod Sir, Here is, How to Predict Your Chances of Admission into NIT or IIIT or GFTI After JEE Main Results – A Step-by-Step Guide

Once the January JEE Main session results was declared, many students and JEE applicants started asking common questions about eligibility for specific institutes (NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, etc.) based on their percentile, category, preferred branch, and home state.

Providing precise admission chances for each student can be challenging. Some reputed educational websites offer ‘College Predictor’ tools where you can check possible college options based on your percentile, category, and preferences. However, for a more accurate understanding, here’s a simple yet effective 9-step method using JoSAA’s past-year opening and closing ranks. This approach gives you a fair estimate (though not 100% exact) of your admission chances based on the previous year’s data.

Step-by-Step Guide to Check Your Admission Chances Using JoSAA Data
Step 1: Collect Your Key Details
Before starting, note down the following details:

Your JEE Main percentile (Convert percentile into Rank withe help of a formula available in Google).
Your category (General-Open, SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwD categories)
Preferred institute types (NIT, IIIT, GFTI)
Preferred locations (or if you're open to any location in India)
List of at least 3 preferred academic programs (branches) as backups (instead of relying on just one option)
Step 2: Access JoSAA’s Official Opening & Closing Ranks
Go to Google and type: JoSAA Opening & Closing Ranks 2024
Click on the first search result (official JoSAA website).
You will land directly on JoSAA’s portal, where you can enter your details to check past-year cutoffs.
Step 3: Select the Round Number
JoSAA conducts five rounds of counseling.
For a safer estimate, choose Round 4, as most admissions are settled by this round.
Step 4: Choose the Institute Type
Select NIT, IIIT, or GFTI, depending on your preference.
If you are open to all types of institutes, check them one by one instead of selecting all at once.
Step 5: Select the Institute Name (Based on Location)
It is recommended to check institutes one by one, based on your preferred locations.
Avoid selecting ‘ALL’ at once, as it may create confusion.
Step 6: Select Your Preferred Academic Program (Branch)
Enter the branches you are interested in, one at a time, in your preferred order.
Step 7: Submit and Analyze Results
After selecting the relevant details, click the ‘SUBMIT’ button.
The system will display Opening & Closing Ranks of the selected institute and branch for different categories.
Step 8: Note Down the Opening & Closing Ranks
Maintain a notebook or diary to record the Opening & Closing Ranks for each institute and branch you are interested in.
This will serve as a quick reference during JoSAA counseling.
Step 9: Adjust Your Expectations on a Safer Side
Since Opening & Closing Ranks fluctuate slightly each year, always adjust the numbers for safety.
Example Calculation:
If the Opening & Closing Ranks for NIT Delhi | Mechanical Engineering | OPEN Category show 8622 & 26186 (for Home State), consider adjusting them to 8300 & 23000 (on a safer side).
If the Female Category rank is 34334 & 36212, adjust it to 31000 & 33000.
Follow this approach for Other State candidates Option also and different categories.
Pro Tip: Adjust your expected rank slightly lower than the previous year's cutoffs for realistic expectations during JoSAA counseling.

Can This Method Be Used for JEE April & JEE Advanced?
Yes! You can repeat the same steps after your April JEE Main results to refine your admission possibilities.
You can also follow a similar process for JEE Advanced cutoffs when applying for IITs.
