I have knee problem and i have realised that when i focus on knee exercise pain increases. When I do least knee exercise it becomes almost normal. I am 48 years old have consulted 5 doctors. They all give pain killers and nothing else. Is ther no medicine besides ain killer.

Ans: Hi. Thank you for your query. It’s understandable that you’re seeking an alternative to painkillers, especially given that focusing on knee exercises seems to increase your pain. A physiotherapist can indeed be a valuable resource in situations like this, as they can assess the specific biomechanics of your knee and suggest a tailored exercise regimen that strengthens surrounding muscles without aggravating the joint.

Physiotherapists can also guide you through low-impact exercises that reduce stress on the knee, such as specific stretching, strengthening, or balance-focused movements. They may incorporate treatments like ultrasound therapy, electrical stimulation, or manual therapy techniques that can relieve pain and improve joint function over time.
Additionally, they can work with you to identify the optimal intensity and frequency for knee exercises to ensure gradual, manageable progress without pain escalation.
