I am 68 year old person retired from govt service. I experience occasional minor pain in my left sidee of the stomach since last 10 years which has increased slightly more since last 4 years. When I lie to left side the pain increases, not unberable but disturbing.I showed to a physician who advised Omez 20 twice a day for 15 days which gave me good relief but again reappeared after a month or so. I was advised by Doctor to continue whenever I get similar pain. Now a days the pain has spread towards left back also and also experience while bending the body front or side ways. Again the pain is not unbearable. I showed to another doctor who advised Razo 20 for 10 days . Whenever medicine is discontinued after a gap of 3-4 days pain reappears. I take lot of water (4 litres per day), less of spices since last 4 years to avoid further complications as spicy food causes more pain to me. I have not consulted any specialist so far thinking I should get relief. Now I have to visit UK and will be out of the country for almost 6 months. My request is to suggest suitable medicine and duration of medication and any suggestions for type of food I should take.Thanking you.

Ans: Please get an USG upper abdomen to rule out Gall bladder problem particularly stones. Also avoid spicy food. Have timely meals, definitely dinner before 6/6.30 pm
Avoid heavy animal protein at dinner meal

Dear Sir, From last week I am having pain in my lower right back (after in periods end), it is more when I wake up (start when I get into sitting position for the first time after waking up... I don't feel it if I continue to lie down). It start reducing as soon as the start moving... in 2-3 hr is down by 50%-60% and get nearly 0 till evening or night, and the same happen next day. But from last 2 days it is very cold here and the intensity of pain has increased... it’s getting uncomfortable. If I have to compare the pain: If feel like the pain you have the next day after doing heavy exercise, like the muscle is solidify and every movement it stretch it with pain making it loose. It is mostly concentered at the dimple of my right hip. Feel like originate from under the skin and radiating outward. Not on surface but deep inside toward the surface. Also, I was feeling burning sensation in the lower right side of the abdomen (again inside not on the surface). It started with winter getting cold, I consult the doctor and was told that it may be due to accumulation of acid (HCL) in my large intestine. She ask me to eat more (many times a days- include fruit and nut in between proper meals) and 15 days of medication (homeopathy) it is gone. For the history of all this- In November – One day after I wake up when I was getting into sitting position ... I don’t know what I did wrong or how I jerk my body up.... I feel a sudden sharp pain on my back same point... I was not in sitting position still half way in air little bend toward right.... And I know I have pulled something wrong...a muscle, nerve or ligament something... The pain was a lot like a sudden cramp you feel in your calf... I slowing get back to lying position and the pain die down in minutes... It was uncomfortable, little tight, but no pain when I again get to sitting position slowing. I started feeling soreness or tightness in my back someday not daily when I wake up. And it goes after some time has passed (30min -1 hr). It was like that till the weather get cold in mid dec. and I started have little pain in morning and burning sensation during days as told above.... I don’t have both (pain and burning) when I was on medicine... and for the next week till I get my periods... and as soon as the period ends the pain is back (on my 5th day). I don’t remember having pain during my period both in nov and dec... (I going to check the same in Feb if that the case). I know it a lot of reading and I should go to doctor.... Sorry to say my experience with back pain treatment (in 2011 after falling from vehicle) was very bad...firstly No doctor in interested in listening your part how you feeling and what you think. Secondly If you are feeling some non-standard problem (not in the book) always my case... you suddenly became a test sample... they ask you to take all the test... from blood test to MRI to bone marrow and if very test report in negative they give you more test. (I know it’s part of diagnosing the root cause). But it’s very disturbing... the test goes on and you are given strong painkillers and asked to rest and wait... as back pain take long time to heal (2 years though I stop going to doctor after initial 3-4 months of tests an no answers). The second time (2019) I went to my homeopathy doctor after my sciatic nerves get pull during exercise. With medicine I feel the pain traveling down from my back to thigh to knee then ankle - toe and out (same right side), It took 5-6 months and lot of endurance I don’t know why I am so scared this time... Please suggest me what should I do... which type of doctor I should go or what type of test I should take or simple allow time to heal... Or is it some kind of symptoms of some other underlying problem... what should I do? I am 36 year old / female, weight 70kg, Average building, 5.4ft height, having 8hr sitting job. For last 2 days I am taking medicine from my homeopathy Doc for my back pain (soreness/ sprains/ stiffness)

I am 31, teetotaler, with no bad habits, bachelor, leading celibacy, no chronical ailment, minimalist, investing in various schemes of mutual from the age of 18, now my investment is Rs. 50 lacs, with SIP of Rs. 15K every month in equity funds, and 40 lacs medical insurance 1.5Cr term insurance. Insurance premia are taken care by dividend from equity shares. My average annual expenses at present is Rs.5 lacs. Please guide me at what age should I give up the job and submit my resignation from MNC job, and retire, where I have no dependants nor depending on any one. Please guide me and advise.
Ans: Hi Mani,

You are one of the rare example of someone who is a long term investor and have build quite a good corpus through all these years.
Let us have a look at what can be done:
1. Insurance - you are well covered. Even premiums are being taken care of using dividends.
2. Emergency fund - build a dedicsted fund of minimu 10 lakhs in liquid funds for any emergency situation.
3. Mutual funds - a SIP of 15k has built you a corpus of 50 lakhs in 13 years which is great. You should also focus on increasing your investments to the maximum capacity whenever possible.
4. You are a bachelor and want to retire. But you also have to plan if ou want to get married. Getting married will change the entire plan. You will need funds to get marry, start family, kid's education and marriage. All these things should also be considered before making any decision.
5. Your current expenses of 5lakhs will double easily on getting married, so your resignation and retirement depends on this plan as well.

Hence my suggestion would be to focus on increasing income for now and you are too young to consider leaving your job. Plan your future goals and then take this decision collectively.

Also as your MF portfolio crosses 50 lakhs, would suggest you to consult a professional Certified Financial Planner - a CFP who can guide you with exact funds to invest in keeping in mind your age, requirements, financial goals and risk profile.

Let me know if you need more help.

Hello. I'm 41yr old woman have 2 kids age 13 and 7. I own 3bhk duplex house in Bangalore. My monthly income comes upto 60k per month. I have invested 45lakhs in bhive workspace company and getting returns of 64k per month. I have also invested in 5 autos tie-up with rapid and earning 75k returns on tht. I have invested 12 lakhs in motilal Oswal midcap elss fund. Now I'm getting 1cr from my parents property share. Where should I invest for good returns and safe investment for future wealth? And I also love traveling so need to save some money for future for my health and my desire to fulfill. Plz guide me wisely.
Ans: Hi,

You have done great investments with some companies and aree earning out of it. This is the best form of diversification.
I understand, you have your house, monthly income from salary and your investments.
To further diversify the 1 crore that you are getting, can consider investing in a mix of equity oriented and balanced mutual funds. Your current investment in the Oswal midcap ELSS doesn't seem good. Even this can be shifted to a much better fund suited to your requirements wrt your risk appetite.

You can work with a professional advisor who will guide you with exact fund names to invest your 1 crore and also redirect 12 lakhs from elss fund to another fund.

Your goal of travelling can be done using a portion of 15% from 1 crore that you will get. This amount will be invested in debt and small cap funds and you can do a sWP from this amount to fulfil your travel goal.

Regarding health, first make sure to have a dedicated health insurance for yourself and family with a cover of minimum 25 lakhs. And have an emergency fund of around 10-15 lakhs. This would be sufficient to take care of this.

Lastly, refrain from doing investments based on any random tips in mutual funds as any wrong fund selection can hamper the growth of your portfolio.
Hence consult a professional Certified Financial Planner - a CFP who can guide you with exact funds to invest in keeping in mind your age, requirements, financial goals and risk profile.

Let me know if you need more help.
