I am 50, of late i have stomach bloating issues, suddenly it feels very tight n the whole abdomen area feels like air tight balloon. Sometimes this happens before eating or after eating also. I also experience catches in the ankle, thigh, waist regions. Quite often.

To ensure good digestion, only eat until your stomach is half-full.

This will enable proper digestion of food and help avoid bloating and gastric issues.

Avoid eating spicy food, especially after sunset.

Also eat a bowl of curd (fresh curd only and at room temperature) in the morning to control acidity issues.

Since you have indicated low physical activity, it could be the root cause of all your digestive problems.

You must go for a walk every morning or after a 30 minute gap after your meals. It not only promotes circulation but also promotes intestinal health.

If you have a desk job, try sitting on the floor with a laptop stand.

Options like a kneeling chair or a standing desk help avoid long sitting hours.

Reoccurring acidity and strong acid refluxes could be due to many reasons, some of which can become severe if not addressed.

I would recommend that you visit an Ayurvedic practitioner right away and get your tests done as prescribed by the doctor.

Meanwhile, too much acidity can hamper our stomach lining, resulting in ulcers and other severe problems. You need to plan a detox diet and give some relief to your digestive system.

Finish your dinner three, or at least two, hours before you sleep.

Don’t eat spicy/fried food. Have more of alkaline foods like fruits and buttermilk (though not at night).

If you can do a fruit diet once a week, practise it for 2-3 months.

Also, start having jeera (cumin) or saunf (aniseed) water in the morning.
