I am working in a software MNC for 10+ years. My company has been laying off people last couple of years as cost cutting measure. Now Management is putting undue pressure on me to resign to avoid paying severance. They are trying to implicate me in false PIP if I don't resign myself. What should I do?

Dear Mayank, Request you to kindly keep the name anonymous I am working with a firm since 16 months. I am into sales. I have already resigned from my services and am on notice period. I do not have any offer on hand. The bosses are threatening that they would not issue the proper relieving letter, eg as non-performance, etc. Can they mention the same without any prior communication to me on the said subject and if the same was really a concern then why are they not relieving me earlier? It looks like it is an arm-twisting tactic and they are putting a lot of emotional pressure. Since four out of seven members have resigned in our vertical, it seems they are showing the frustration on me. I am a little soft-spoken and do not want any confrontation with them. Will there be a legal course available to me if the relieving is not proper? Please help.

Hi.

If there has been no prior communication and they are bringing this up only after you have resigned, then it is quite unprofessional on their part.

Serve your notice period and have a candid discussion with them. Explain that if they try and spoil your career, then you will have no choice but to take the legal path.

Alternately, since you don’t have a job, negotiate with them and continue till you get a good job.

Hello Sir, Good day ! I work for a Bangalore based KPO. In my company few teams got dissolved as clients projects got over. I am a male working in night shifts from last 9 years and 34 years old. We are on bench right now. My manager is forcing us to do night shift and rather relocate to another city. I have some family emergency that is coming up and i am settled in Bangalore. Few other team members those were on bench got call same day in which my boss and HR was there. They gave two options to them 1. Put resignation take 3 months salary. (We have 3 months notice period ) If not they will get terminated with no experience certificate and blacklisted also. Is there any law that can safe guard me. Please advise right course of action and what shouls be the right way of deali g with that

my suggestion don't even think of the legal way, it will distract and drain your energy.

Try talking to your company about your emergency and seek time, if they give great, if they don't then suggest you take up what they are offering or look for alternate job.

Hello sir this is Nishat , I passed my 12th in the year 2023 with a good percentage but however I couldn’t see it for chemistry exam. So obviously I failed in that subject so I decided to again reappear for that exam and in 2024 I gave betterment exam from my state board in the subject biology and chemistry. However I scored far better in biology than last time but (Chemistry) I don’t know maybe it’s it’s because of the issues that we have with our board. I couldn’t score good marks so even I had decided to give (Chemistry) separately and so in 2024. I again set for (Chemistry) exam under nios I and I scored 80 so now the thing is that I’ll be having two mark sheet so while applying in need I cannot possibly select the code 2 because although I already have the state board certificate but the NIOS certificate is not yet out and it will be out by end of the March sir can I possibly select the code one that is appearing or will it create problems while counselling or is there any other option please help me out sir , I’m very desperate like I have prepared for neey for the last two years and I don’t want to put my hard work into vain. Please Sir help me out

Please select code 1 without any fear. Focus more on your study. But considering your fear and anxiety with the chemistry subject, it is recommended that you choose other options than NEET. This time you appear without any fear.
