Ans: IISc has an intake of only 15 students for Management. Most students who do management are students with 1 or 2 years work ex. You may be overage for this specific course. Check out Executive MBA course from other MBA colleges which is 1 year course for students with higher work experience.

Hello Mayank ji, My name is Anand (age 36Years), I am presently working as Executive engineer (as a facility manager of the institute), earlier part of construction project execution in same Government institute with about 17years technical experience in total. I have Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical and electronics, planning for higher education either in technical (MTech) or administrative (MBA) full time/part time (Planning to take leave from job) preferred place is Bangalore. What are the course options available for me along with good to better institutes which I can opt for? IIMB is one of the option for me? Do I have to write CAT entrance test for all such entries or based on experience some entry is possible? Other details like expenditure for completion of course? what are the career growth options available for my profile? Thanks in advance
Ans: With your 17 years of technical experience, you may consider pursuing an Executive MBA (EMBA) program. The EMBA program is designed for experienced professionals, and it focuses on leadership, strategic management, and business administration. There are several top-rated institutes in Bangalore that offer EMBA programs, including the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bangalore, Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME), and Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), among others. However, some institutes may consider your work experience as an eligibility criterion and waive off the entrance test. Regarding career growth options, an EMBA degree can open up new opportunities in leadership and strategic management roles. With your technical background and an EMBA degree, you can move into senior management roles.

Whereas, I am got stagnated here and not getting much in term of salary or career growth and looking forward for doing MBA to switch my career field to analytics/Finance. I did Master in Public Administration in distance mode while I was preparing because this was my optional. Previous month, I took admission in Executive MBA from IIT Patna but unfortunately, its substandard in terms of quality and learning. I have certain doubts, Please let me help to come to the conculsion. Shall I go with the Full time MBA at 32 age by giving CAT/GMAT? Shall I opt for executive MBA from IIMs like Indore, Kashipur etc, here I have concern related to placements, considering 12 Lakh Fee? Shall I do 1 year full time PGP at IIM Indore, ISB or any good institutions for the change? Or shall I opt for CFA/FRM along with my IIT Patna Executive MBA? I am way behind my collogues and even not settled due to my UPSC unsuccessful attempts, I need to switch the filed. Please revert and help me out tin clearing my dilemma, I am really very confused right now.,
Ans: It is advisable to write GMAT and try to do Executive MBA from one of the good IIMs or XLRI. These colleges do have good placements and it could help your career. Usual requirement for these courses is minimum 5 years of work experience
