I'm in company where everything is very toxic I have no other option but to resign immediately but I'm in probation period and joined 2 months ago and notice period is of 3 months .. should I get abscond will it affect my future employment

Ans: Thank you for getting in touch with me on Rediff Gurus. Leaving a job during your probation without giving notice period is a tough decision hence, it is important for you to do it in the right manner. Here are some tips that will help:

First keep your document organized and easily accessible before your start the process. Use a diary, notebook, digital document or dedicated folder to store all records related to workplace misconduct because documentation is everything.

Write down the date, time, location and details of each incident as soon as possible after it occurred. Document everything including specific behavior or actions observed and any individual involved in it along with any supporting evidence such as emails, messages, photographs, or witness statements that matters.

Describe the impact of the misconduct on you by others in the workplace such as emotional distress, decrease in productivity, health or damage to relationships a sequential order with respect to date, time and location before you talk to anyone else.

Once documentation is over then reach out to others which include your trusted friends, colleagues, well wishers, professional network, experts & mentors for advice and suggestion to get better insight and suggestion on how to handle the situation effectively.

You should also familiarize yourself with your company policies and procedures to follow the appropriate channels outlined in HR Policy of your organization for escalating complaints to the right person responsible or you can meet HR or reporting manager to discuss your concerns openly and professionally by sharing the reason for resigning along with the possibility of mutual agreement to end the probation period early and try to negotiate a compromise with your employer. This could involve offering an option to assist with the transition during your remaining time to help mitigate the impact of your early departure.

In case, you are still unsure about your rights and obligations, consider seeking an advice from a lawyer or legal expert who is specialized in employment law to decide the best course of action based on your local state regulations and specific circumstances as well.

If possible, try to exit this toxic company in a professional manner but ultimately, the decision to resign immediately or serving your notice period depends on your specific circumstances with potential risk involved. I believe by handling this situation with these careful considerations and strategic planning you can come out from this difficult phase with minimal repercussions on your future career opportunities.

Please keep in mind that a toxic culture will beat a good professional every time. Don’t let these toxic people from this organization rent space in your head. It’s time to raise the rent & kick them out of your life while you look for a positive work environment in your next job and feel free to contact me via Rediff Gurus if you require any additional help or advice.

Hi sir I could not serve my 3 months notice period however I had served 2 months and asked HR to give me early reliving. I mentioned that my parents are not well and attached medical prescription but they denied and said you to serve complete 3 months. After 2 months I stopped going to office they were sending me absconding mails meanwhile and after 1month they sent me termination letter what shall I do In such case ? I was working there for 2 years.
Ans: I’m sorry to hear about your situation. When facing termination due to not serving the full notice period, it’s important to understand your rights and the potential legal implications. Here’s what you can consider doing:

Review Your Employment Contract: Check the terms regarding the notice period and termination. There might be provisions for situations like medical emergencies.
Legal Consultation: It may be beneficial to consult with a labor law attorney who can provide advice based on the specifics of your case and the applicable laws.
Documentation: Gather all relevant documentation, including the medical prescriptions you submitted, any communication from HR, and the termination letter.
Negotiation: You could attempt to negotiate with your employer, explaining the situation with your parents and seeking a compassionate resolution.
Labor Office: If negotiation fails, you may approach the local labor office or labor court for guidance and to explore options for redressal.
Understand Legal Precedents: Familiarize yourself with any legal precedents that may apply to your case. For instance, the Supreme Court has provided judgments on employment notice periods that might offer insights into your rights and obligations.
Remember, each situation is unique, and the best course of action depends on the specifics of your employment contract and the company’s policies. It’s crucial to handle the matter professionally and legally to ensure the best possible outcome. Good luck!

Hi Sir/Madam, I was working in an company where only 7 people are there .And, I absconded from the company 2 week back, because there they were discriminating the employees by religion who all are not their own religion. Every morning they'll use to do thier religious related things and also they were asked me to do gradually . But, I refused, because I never ever used to do those things and not comfortable as well. Since the day, that Manager was indirectly targeting, pressurizing me & some people and separating us. Not able to work properly and got depressed But, in our Offer letter it has been mentioned that there are 3 Years of probation period and without completing Notice period employees experience letter and releaving letter won't be provided. So, I absconded from that organisation without any releaving letter and experience letter, because I couldn't not able to pursue there. So, pls give right solutions to pursue my career, because I have 2 Years of experience. I don't want to waste my work experience.
Ans: I’m sorry to hear about your difficult situation. But I can suggest some general steps you might consider:

Document Everything: Keep a record of all communications and incidents that led to your decision to leave the company. This could be useful if you need to prove your case later.
Legal Advice: It might be beneficial to consult with a legal expert or a labor attorney who can provide advice based on your specific situation and local labor laws.
Human Rights Commission: If you believe you were discriminated against based on your religion, you might want to contact your local human rights commission or similar organization.
Job Search: Start looking for a new job that aligns with your career goals and provides a respectful work environment. Your previous experience will definitely be valuable.
Explain Your Situation: When applying for new jobs, be honest about your situation. Employers understand that not all work environments are healthy, and explaining your situation might help them understand your decision.
Remember, it’s important to seek professional advice in situations like these. I hope things get resolved for you soon.

Ans: Venkatesh! It's great to see your disciplined approach towards saving and investing. With your stable income and existing investments, adding Rs. 15,000 per month for 18-20 years can significantly boost your long-term wealth accumulation.

Considering your current portfolio, you may diversify further by adding funds from different categories to spread risk. Consider allocating the additional investment across different types of mutual funds such as mid-cap funds, small-cap funds, or international funds to enhance diversification.

As for stepping up your existing portfolio, you can consider increasing your SIP amounts gradually over time. Analyze the performance of your current funds and the potential for growth. Based on your risk tolerance and financial goals, you may consider increasing the SIP amounts in funds that have shown consistent performance and align with your investment objectives.

Please suggest 4 MF's for investment of Rs 10 k sip. It should be growth and open ended... Srinivasulu
Ans: Srinivasulu! Here are four mutual fund options for your SIP investment of Rs. 10,000 each:

Large Cap Fund: Invest in a large-cap fund for stability and growth potential. These funds typically invest in well-established, large companies with a track record of steady performance.
Multi-Cap Fund: Opt for a multi-cap fund to diversify across different market capitalizations, including large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap stocks. These funds offer flexibility to capitalize on opportunities across the market spectrum.
Mid Cap Fund: Consider investing in a mid-cap fund for exposure to mid-sized companies with potential for higher growth. These funds can be more volatile but offer the opportunity for significant returns over the long term.
Flexi Cap Fund: Choose a flexi cap fund for the flexibility to invest across market capitalizations based on the fund manager's assessment of market conditions. These funds adapt to changing market dynamics and aim to deliver consistent growth.
Ensure you review the fund's performance, track record, and consistency before making your investment decision. It's also essential to stay invested for the long term and regularly review your portfolio to ensure it remains aligned with your financial goals.

Remember, consulting with a Certified Financial Planner can provide personalized guidance tailored to your specific financial situation and goals.

Dear Guru, I work in the technology space, and as with most careers, it is challenging and stressful. I work long hours (10-12hrs on avg). My problem is that I get disturbed sleep and am unable to get work related thoughts out of my mind wherein I even dream about solutions to work problems. I am afraid this is going to hurt my health and burn me out soon. Please advise on how I can detach from work to get a refreshing sleep.
Ans: Dear Bhawik!!

Pat yourself on the back for being a committed employee. The problems you have stated happen to most people who give their 100% to their work. Since you already know what it is to be 100% at work, it is time for you to give your 100% at home and to yourself.
You need to mentally detach yourself from work the moment you step out of the office building.
How will you do this? Adopt the following-
1. before leaving the office list out all the activities for tomorrow , prioritise them and mentally commit to them as tasks for tomorrow.
2. as soon as you exit the office building take three deep breaths , inhale and exhale deeply - this is called a transitioning breath which helps you transition from activity to another
3 establish rituals like listening to music( which you love) the moment you leave the building
4. if your transit form office to home takes some time, then practice being in the moment by looking around - the people, the trees, the sky, let all your senses be involved- use your eyes to see, nose to smell, ears to hear the sounds around, feel the breeze in your hair/ on your skin. This makes you feel 100% alive. Stay in the moment.
5. when you reach home, greet your loved ones with a smile
6. spend a little time doing nothing , just be
7. enjoy your meal mindfully
8.take a small walk after your meal
9.spend min 10 mins doing something that brings you joy, for me it is reading a book, what is it for you?
10.go for a guided "Yog Nidra" before sleeping.

Do not intellectualize these suggestions. Just do them. They are tried and tested methods for a proper demarcation between work and home life.
Best wishes for a life well lived and restful sleep..
