Dear Sir,
If you are good at your job and you get good feedback from the bosses but your salary has not been raised for two years and the company is doing well, is it okay to ask for a raise?
Will I lose my job if I do so? Or will the company stop giving me good projects?
Please advise.

Any increase in compensation will depend on the policy of the company.

You would know whether your colleagues and other employees in the company are getting salary increments.

If they are, then you must immediately approach your management.

Requesting for a salary increase is within an employee's rights and will be taken in the right spirit.

Dear Mayank, It has been 2 years since I joined a company and it's time for my appraisal. My boss wants to know why I deserve a promotion and a raise. I have worked really hard and helped my department meet their targets in the first two quarters. But he doesn't seem to be convinced. I got to know that he wants to give a raise and promote my colleague Tanvi. I heard that they hang out post work. This is really bothering me because I have added value to the company and helped it grow. What should I do? Should I complain about him to the HR? Or talk to him directly? A

First of all, clearly articulate your achievements with the specific targets you have met.

Have a formal discussion with your manager and also send her/him a formal mail.

You can approach HR if you are not convinced with your manager’s response.

Dual employment is illegal and you must not engage in that, especially without the knowledge of your current employer.

Instead, you can look for a job that pays you a better salary.

Ans: You could put it in a subtle manner without actually saying that you need a raise! And if your HR realises your worth, I do not think you would require to even say it! All the best!

i am currently in 12th class with subject pcb. I wanted to do engineering btech in cse for which i needed maths. If i give cbse private candidate exam for additional subject in mathematics (041) then will i be eligible to take btech cse in nits and iiits or any other private institute?
