Pradeep Pramanik is a career coach, placement consultant and director at Fast Track Career Consultants, which provides career counselling, soft skills training and placement consultancy services.
Pradeep, who hails from Bhagalpur in Bihar, has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 15 years in sales, marketing, training and product management roles in companies like Lupin Pharmaceuticals, Elder Pharmaceuticals and Ranbaxy Laboratories.
During his tenure in the pharma industry, he has worked in different states including Bihar, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.

I am looking for a job, I had uploaded my resume in job site. A consultant called me & introduced himself telling he know some of the openings. He had a detailed discussion about my job & my skills. He told need to register to his consultancy for scheduling interview. I registered with him & he got me a interview. Interview was done by the company through skype. I could not see the company persons. They told only they can see me. Interview went on well & regarding salary I told my expectation but they told it is not possible & they told their proposal. Finally I agreed to them. They gave me code & told to visit the company for next round. Consultant called me after first round & told recruiter is very happy with the interview. Regarding salary he told why I agreed for the proposal,he will discuss again & asked to pay charges for some of his services which he will refund the day I visit to the company & take the orders. I paid him. He told there is a increase in salary he has discussed with recruiter & again asked for the money I did only partial payment & further will not pay anything. Second round also happened through skype instead of in person. Interview went on well & salary offered was good comparing to before & there was a big jump. Recruiter told they have planned to give additional responsibilities so they have increased. Finally they gave me a date to visit company. I asked when will I get the order, he replied he will send to consultant as I was taken by them. Till now i did not get the orders, consultant is keep on postponing. Now he told visit to company date is also postponed, he will update in next week & not to worry as job is confirmed. Now not understanding what to do, am I been cheated or wait.

There are many unscruplous job agents who are fake and claim themselves to be a Placement consultant. In short You have been cheated . Before paying any fee for registration , you must ensure that the agency is genuine . If not don't even upload your resume . You may write to company , lodge a complaint against the agency. If the amount is very high , pl. take the help of police . .

Sir, I did my BMS in HR as well as MBA in HR and got a job in a private media company on their third party pay-roll. At the time of interview, the Company assured me that after a period of 6 months in third party pay-roll they will absorb me in the Company with a salary hike. However, after completing my 6 months, my work even by exceeding the expectation of the company, the company is extending my service with the third party for another 6 months with the same salary stating that they do not have a vacancy in the company to absorb me at this moment. I am very disappointed about this behaviour of the company that after assuring me of absorbing in the company with a salary upon completion of 6 months with the third party payroll, now they are not fulfilling the commitment. I feel I have wasted my 6 months with the lower salary offered by the company under third party payroll. I would seek your guidance as to whether I should take up the extension with third party for another 6 months with same salary or should resign and seek for another job.
Ans: I suggest you ask a legal expert first in the matter to clarify if what the company is doing is correct or not. If they aren't, you are at liberty to take to a legal recourse.Secondly, please be sure that you have a suitable job (as per your expertise and experience)in hand if you want to resign in the current job. Remember, jobs are hard to come by these days. I wont like you to be out of a job!Lastly, why don't you seek an appointment with the company boss and explain to him the problem? Straight talking is best. He will surely help you out!
