Hello sir. My daughter is us citizen, oci holder. She is studying in class 12 in India. She loves biology and wants to go for MBBS. But it will be very expensive here to study in NRI seats. Also how much this degree will be valid be in usa as she will have to go USA as citizen

Ans: Hi Poojaji......An MBBS degree from India is valid in the USA, but to practice there, your daughter will need to pass the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) and possibly complete a residency program in the U.S. Studying in countries with affordable fees like the Philippines or Ukraine could be considered, as their MBBS programs are often more recognized in the U.S. than India's. Alternatively, she could pursue a pre-med track in the U.S. and later apply to American medical schools, which align directly with U.S. licensure requirements.

She is US Citizen & OCI. we are currently living in India and would like to know what different options for her? since, in US, they have to do pre-med first before getting into MD, so she is interested in getting directly into degree course of medicine.

Hi sir, My daughter is an OCI card holder(born in USA), she is doing her schooling in India. Currently studying grade 12 with Maths, Physics, Chemistry n Comp. Sci in ISC board, Chennai. She is preparing for JEE. What are her options for higher studies in India... Will she be Treated as NRI? Couls you please guide us with choices after grade 12.

Ans: Anitha Madam,

She should appear for (minimum) 5-7 Entrance Exams to get admission into any one of the Engineering Colleges in India. Some of them are:

1) JEE
2) COMEDK (Karnataka Colleges)
3) PESSAT (PES University / Bengaluru)
4) SRMJEE (SRM Colleges in Chennai/India)
5) AEEE (Amrita College)
6) VITEE (VIT College)
7) BITSAT (for Birla Institute of Technology)
8) CUET (if she prefers 3-year Degree programs with any one of the 20 Central Universities of India)

Or through the Management Quota, the capitation / annual fees depends upon the College / Location / Stream she prefers.

OCI Reservation is applicable for some of the Entrance Exams mentioned above. However, there will be competition for OCI seats also especially for the national level exams like JEE. Please check the respective websites to know in detail about OCI Reservation.

I got 88.25percentile from obc NCL (male) category can I get any branch in any nit /iiit/GFTI.

Ans: Hello Chudamani
it would be very difficult to get into NIT or IIIT or GFTI at this percentile.
