Hello Sir - My daughter is aspiring to join IAF. We don’t have any family background of defenseservices. Can you please suggest options on how she can focus to prepare and crack these exams - either through NDA or AFCAT. Do you suggest attending coaching for the preparations. She is right now in 11th Grade in Hyderabad

Ans: She must start preparing for the NDA from now itself. Schedules are available online and so are the subjects. It is better that she joins a class, especially for math which is a difficult exam. If not the NDA, she can do the preparations for CDS/AFCAT post her graduation. She must also start improving her General Knowledge, Service Knowledge and General awareness levels from now itself. Sir, My son is pursuing his BA (Psychology) from Christ University with subjects of Psychology, Sociology & English with special elective on soft skills. He will graduate in Jun 2025. He is very active in NCC (army) and aspires to join IAF in ground duty branch. Could you please advice on the opportunities and the way forward for his preparations to appear in AFCAT. Ans: AFCAT subjects and detail of marks per subject are given on the IAF website careerairforce.nic.in
The candidate can join through the special entry scheme through NCC though the vacancies are very few. I suggest that he studies well for the AFCAT and passes it with a good mark. Thereafter the next stage will be SSB for which some coaching may be required.

Request you to suggest how to prepare to crack the exam/interviews and also suggest the reliable best coaching center in Pune for preparation.

Ans: You can kindly go to careerairforce.nic.in for details on the eligibility. Please go through the syllabus and study all topics thoroughly. Once you pass, we can look at further guidance for SSB. Pune has a large number of classes for afcat. I can suggest you try with APEX career academy with is considered good.

I want to send my friends son in the IAF, He cant speak English, but he can speak Hindi well. How do I prepare him for NDA or IAF officers recruitment.

Ans: It is important to have some proficiency in written and spoken English to appear in the SSB after you have cleared the written exam for joining your he forces. Please get him to join a class or do what it takes to improve his spoken and written English.

Requesting you not to panic at this early stage. Let her appear for JEE session 2 and the state-level engineering entrance test. Let all the results out. You have ample time to think about the available options for engineering admission. At this stage, no need to think about management quota unless and until you want a particular branch in a particular college. Depending on her score in upcoming exams, she may get admission to reputed engineering either in Pune or Bengaluru

Ans: Assuming STCG is from Shares on which STT is paid and sold after 23 Jul 2024, your tax liability for FY 2024-25 shall be around Rs.21300
