Hi Komal ji. I am 55 years of age and diabetic for the past 12 years. My HbA1C is 6.8. I am on medication with Glycomet 1gm BD and Linapride 5 mg OD. I maintain my body weight around 66 kgs at a height of 166cm. I maintain a healthy diet and walk everyday for about 35 min or so. Please advice how to reverse my diabetes.
Ans: Diabetes can be controlled by effective strategies of diet planning and exercise. Include complex carbohydrates like whole grains, oats, millets, etc. and fiber rich fruits and vegetables, good protein food sources like eggs, low fat dairy products, soya, etc. along with low fats and low salt, in your diet. This will reduce glycemic spikes and reduce Insulin resistance. A cardio and strengthening exercise will help increase muscle mass and mobilize fat which will help in reducing blood sugar levels.
