Hello , I am currently working as a middle school science teacher . I don't see any kind of growth in this profile . Is there a way to upgrade in the field of education by doing higher studies ? If so what can I study ? My qualification is masters in biochemistry Can I shift to any other job ?. Thank you

Ans: I believe teaching is really a noble profession where you are building the future of India. I wish you had given more details like years of score in MSc, experience, age as many options I am going to suggest may have age requirements. With a Master’s in Biochemistry and school teaching experience, you can pursue careers in senior secondary teaching, college lecturership of course with NET/SET, or edtech content development. Opportunities also exist in research labs, clinical trials, quality control, biotech industry, and science communication. Roles such as lab manager, curriculum designer, or policy analyst are also a possibility. Government positions viz drug inspector, food safety officer are also options to explore. Your background is well-suited for STEM outreach, NEET coaching, and international teaching roles. A short certification or B.Ed. can further expand your options across academics, industry, and public service sectors.

Thank you . I am nearing 40 yrs with 10 years of experience in teaching . I hope this will help you for further suggestions
Ans: Thanks for sharing. There will be many areas where you will be over-age, based on that you may pick options for pursuing or furthering a career in teaching. Ask for a bigger role in your current school and look for jobs as head of a school, where your age and experience will be an asset.
