Sir, My daughter is in a perplexed state of mind. She is in dillema whether she go for Sociology or Bio-tech. In case, her dream of Civil Services is not achieved, should she go for Bio-tech in Graduation. She also wants what scope does she have in case see opt for Graduation in Bio-tech for Civil Services. What are the good Govt colleges to do Graduation in Bio-tech?
Ans: To determine her interests, aptitude, personality traits, and orientation style, it is highly recommended to arrange an online Psychometric Test. The test report will provide valuable insights into the most suitable career paths for her.

If she is considering engineering, appearing for JEE or other Engineering Entrance Exams is advisable. Additionally, having CUET-UG as a backup is a wise choice to ensure broader opportunities.

For those passionate about science and research, Biotechnology is a promising field. It offers diverse career prospects in biopharmaceuticals, medical research, environmental science, and food technology. She can also explore government career opportunities by appearing for exams such as CSIR-NET, ICMR, DRDO, and FSSAI.

However, if her ultimate goal is to join the Civil Services, opting for Sociology can be advantageous. It is a popular subject for the UPSC Mains exam and also opens career avenues in academia, NGOs, policy-making, and journalism, serving as a strong backup option.

Top Government Colleges for Biotechnology: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi

Hi, My daughter is interested in pursuing B.Tech Biotechnology and has got a confirmation from SRM - KTR campus for B.tech Biotechnology. Now she has also got 94 percentile in MHCET (donot have Maharashtra domicile). Other colleges who have confirmed are DYPIU akurdi - pune, MIT kothrud - pune , KIIT - Bhubaneswar. Kindly advice which amongst these would be the best option from curriculum, placement perspective for B.Tech Biotechnology. Thanks
Ans: Sangram Sir, SRM Kattankulathur (KTR) offers a well-established B.Tech Biotechnology program with a strong curriculum blending life sciences and engineering, NAAC A++ accreditation, and a national reputation, supported by 80–90% placement rates and a large recruiter pool including biotech, pharma, and research organizations. KIIT Bhubaneswar’s School of Biotechnology also boasts 80–90% placements, world-class labs, and a robust industry interface, with top recruiters from the biotech and healthcare sectors, and a curriculum aligned to current industry needs. DY Patil International University (Akurdi) and MIT-WPU Pune provide B.Tech Bioengineering, focusing more on applied engineering in the bio sector, good infrastructure, and growing placement support, but are relatively newer and less recognized nationally for biotechnology. SRM KTR and KIIT both offer broader alumni networks, stronger research exposure, and better placement consistency in the biotechnology domain compared to the Pune options.

Recommendation: Prefer SRM Kattankulathur for B.Tech Biotechnology due to its established reputation, strong curriculum, high placement rates, and national visibility, with KIIT Bhubaneswar as a close second; DYPIU Akurdi and MIT-WPU Pune are suitable if location is a major factor but are less established in the field. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!

Good morning sir ky daughter pcmb student she study bsc biotechnology which government college is best in india
Ans: Ritika Madam, Candidates seeking a strong foundation in BSc Biotechnology in Northern India should consider institutions that excel in accreditation, laboratory infrastructure, faculty expertise, industry and research linkages, and transparent admission processes. Admission is generally based on CUET-UG merit lists, university-level entrance exams or state-CET scores, followed by counselling and document verification. Notable government colleges include Jamia Millia Islamia Delhi (CUET; NAAC A+), Jawaharlal Nehru University Delhi (CUET-UG; Institute-level counselling), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU Entrance Test), Banaras Hindu University Varanasi (CUET; research internships), University of Delhi’s South Campus (CUET; specialised biotech labs), Panjab University Chandigarh (PU-CET; state-level counselling), Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar (GNDU-CET), Punjabi University Patiala (PU-CET), University of Lucknow (CUET; merit-based), University of Allahabad (CUET; central counselling), Kurukshetra University (CUET; state counselling), Himachal Pradesh University Shimla (CUET; regionally reserved seats), University of Jammu (CET-Jammu), University of Kashmir Srinagar (CET-Kashmir), Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Government College Faridabad (merit-based), Dronacharya Government College Gurgaon (merit), Meerut College Meerut (merit), Government PG College Kotdwar (UKSEE), University of Rajasthan Jaipur (CUET), Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University Agra (CUET), and Government Maharani Laxmi Bai College Gwl (CUET). Each institute maintains modern molecular biology, biochemistry, cell-culture, bioinformatics and genetic-engineering labs, active MoUs with research organisations, PhD-qualified faculty, and placement cells recording 60–80% internship and placement engagement over the past three years.

Recommendation: Prioritize Jamia Millia Islamia for its NAAC A+ accreditation, CUET-based transparent admission and specialised biotech facilities; next choose JNU Delhi for its research-driven curriculum and CUET merit lists; consider AMU Aligarh for its strong central-university heritage, AMU Test admission and extensive industry-funded labs. All the BEST for Admission and a Prosperous Future!

Tech Careers and Skill Development Expert - Answered on Dec 05, 2025

Career
Dear Sir, I did my BTech from a normal engineering college not very famous. The teaching was not great and hence i did not study well. I tried my best to learn coding including all the technologies like html, css, javascript, react js,dba, php because i wanted to be a web developer But nothing seem to enter my head except html and css. I don't understand a language which has more complexities. Is it because of my lack of experience or not devoting enough time. I am not sure. I did many courses online and tried to do diplomas also abroad which i passed somehow. I recently joined android development course because i like apps but the teaching was so fast that i could not memorize anything. There was no time to even take notes down. During the course i did assignments and understood the code because i have to pass but after the course is over i tend to forget everything. I attempted a lot of interviews. Some of them i even got but could not perform well so they let me go. Now due to the AI booming and job markets in a bad shape i am re-thinking whether to keep studying or whether its just time waste. Since 3 years i am doing labour type of jobs which does not yield anything to me for survival and to pay my expenses. I have the quest to learn everything but as soon as i sit in front of the computer i listen to music or read something else. What should i do to stay more focused? What should i do to make myself believe confident. Is there still scope of IT in todays world? Kindly advise.
Ans: Your story does not show failure.
It shows persistence, effort, and desire to improve.

Most people give up.
You didn’t.
That means you will succeed — but with the right method, not the old one.

Dating, Relationships Expert - Answered on Dec 04, 2025

Relationship
My married ex still texts me for comfort. Because of him, I am unable to move on. He makes me feel guilty by saying he got married out of family pressure. His dad is a cardiac patient and mom is being treated for cancer. He comforts me by saying he will get separated soon and we will get married because he only loves me. We have been in a relationship for 14 years and despite everything we tried, his parents refused to accept me, so he chose to get married to someone who understands our situation. I don't know when he will separate from his wife. She knows about us too but she comes from a traditional family. She also confirmed there is no physical intimacy between them. I trust him, but is it worth losing my youth for him? Honestly, I am worried and very confused.
Ans: Dear Anonymous,
I understand how difficult it is to let go of a relationship you have built from scratch, but is it really how you want to continue? It really seems to be going nowhere. His parents are already in bad health and he married someone else for their happiness. Does it seem like he will be able to leave her? So many people’s happiness and lives depend on this one decision. I think it’s about time you and your BF have a clear conversation about the same. If he can’t give a proper timeline, please try to understand his situation. But also make sure he understands yours and maybe rethink this equation. It really isn’t healthy. You deserve a love you can have wholly, and not just in pieces, and in the shadows.

Hope this helps
