Assalamualaykum asif bhai, my son faizan is persuing his mechanical engineering at germany, he is now 7 th semister, i would like to ask you your suggestion for MS or further, but my personel choice is he should work in gulf countries, pls suggest

Ans: Remember, son’s choice should align with his interests, career goals, and personal preferences. Encourage him to research thoroughly, and make an informed decision.
In my consideration you can move ahead in MS, Germany offers excellent master’s programs in mechanical engineering. By completing it provide specialized knowledge, research experience, and a chance to explore advanced topics in his field.
In Germany he can choose from various universities and programs. Some universities known for their mechanical engineering programs include the University of Stuttgart, Chemnitz University of Technology, Technical University of Munich, and Technical University of Darmstadt.
Faizan should check the admission requirements, application deadlines, and any aptitude tests needed for specific programs.

Dear Sir, My son wants to pursue MS in Mechanical engineering abroad. He has got an offer for integrated MS i.e 3 years in india in his college and two years from KTH Sweden. This way he saves a year. We were always interested in Germany. Should he join KTH now or join any German public university after he completes Btech. What are the job prospects in Sweden compared to Germany. He has a cgpa of 9.0. Kindly advise.
Ans: Hello Chitra,

Thank you for contacting us. First of all, congratulations to your son for already securing admission to an integrated MS program in Sweden. To answer your question I would like to let you know that both Sweden and Germany offer great options both for education and career in the field of engineering. While Sweden is known for its high-quality education and innovative engineering programs, when it comes to job prospects it may be more competitive and limited in comparison to Germany. Germany, on the other hand, is country that is especially known for its engineering sector which might provide more extensive job opportunities within a larger industry. German public universities also offer their programs with very low or no tuition fees at all. If your son is particularly drawn to Germany's engineering landscape, he might consider completing his B.Tech here and applying to a German public university for a more traditional route which will likely offer him better long-term opportunities. I wish him all the best for his future.

Sir, My son is not interested in computer related jobs. However, he has deep interest in physics. Based on his choice, he likes two engineering branches (from good/reputed institute (like VIT/Thapar Institute) - Either Mechanical engineering or Electronics and communication engineering. So, please suggest regarding the following queries. (1) From package/salary point of view, which one would be better - Mechanical engineering or Electronics and communication engineering (Considering, having job in core sector)? (2) From profession growth point of view, which one would be better - Mechanical engineering or Electronics and communication engineering (Considering, having job in core sector)? Please suggest from short and long term perspective.
Ans: If he wants stable government jobs (PSUs like ISRO, DRDO, BHEL, ONGC, BEL, etc.) → Both ME and ECE are equally good.

If he wants a high-paying career in India (private sector) → ECE is better (VLSI, semiconductor, telecom are booming).

If he wants international opportunities (Germany, US, Japan) → Mechanical is good for automotive/aerospace, but ECE is better for semiconductors.

If he is interested in future technology (Quantum, AI hardware, 6G, IoT, Chip Design) → ECE has a clear edge.

If he enjoys hands-on work (machinery, engines, aerodynamics) → Mechanical suits him better.

For best career growth and salary: ECE (core sector like VLSI, 5G, semiconductor, telecommunications, embedded systems).

For passion in classical physics and machines: ME (with specialization in Robotics, Aerospace, or Renewable Energy).
