Dear Sir, My son wants to pursue MS in Mechanical engineering abroad. He has got an offer for integrated MS i.e 3 years in india in his college and two years from KTH Sweden. This way he saves a year. We were always interested in Germany. Should he join KTH now or join any German public university after he completes Btech. What are the job prospects in Sweden compared to Germany. He has a cgpa of 9.0. Kindly advise.
Ans: Hello Chitra,
Thank you for contacting us. First of all, congratulations to your son for already securing admission to an integrated MS program in Sweden. To answer your question I would like to let you know that both Sweden and Germany offer great options both for education and career in the field of engineering. While Sweden is known for its high-quality education and innovative engineering programs, when it comes to job prospects it may be more competitive and limited in comparison to Germany. Germany, on the other hand, is country that is especially known for its engineering sector which might provide more extensive job opportunities within a larger industry. German public universities also offer their programs with very low or no tuition fees at all. If your son is particularly drawn to Germany's engineering landscape, he might consider completing his B.Tech here and applying to a German public university for a more traditional route which will likely offer him better long-term opportunities. I wish him all the best for his future.
