Hi sir, my son is in 6th grade in kendriya vidyalaya Mumbai cbse syllabus they are teaching well he is performing well but regarding Olympiads he is unable to perform well. We are thinking of 2 option 1.change his school to where they are training students for JEE/neet 2. To let him study in the same school and keep online tuition in Allen/ahaguru .... Which one would be better plz suggest

Ans: Hello
To be honest, no schools in India train simultaneously for boards and olympiads. Only a few schools like in the south, Kota and some in Mumbai train students for Olympiads and other entrance exams because ultimately they are coaching classes registered as schools.

I would suggest continuing with KV till the 10th and joining a separate coaching. During 11-12th you can go with this coaching cum junior college combination.

Hi Sir, My son studies in 8th grade in an IGCSE board school in Mumbai. He is keen to pursue Engineering and crack JEE exams. I want him to start preparing for it early and already motivating him to study syllabus of CBSE Maths not covered in IGCSE. He shows great excitement in the same and does it willingly. I shall also do the same for Science. My queries are as below. What do I do after his 10th boards? Should I ask him pursue AS and A boards or enrol him to an academy for an integrated study of 11th and 12th + JEE? I am keen to have private tutors for JEE studies. Will this be better than academy coaching? Should I enrol him in a Junior college for 11th and 12th and also ask him to prepare for JEE simultaneously? Thanks, Mehul
Ans: Hello Mehul. Your son is in 8th std. It is good to hear that he is doing good in his studies that too willingly. As he is in 8th std, it would be better to join him for 3 years Foundation Course for IIT-JEE (8th + 9th + 10th). Search these coaching institutes near by you if possible. Else you can purchase the excellent material provided by Matrushri Institute, Hyderabad. The material provided by this institute is excellent. Purchase the material, and search private tutors to complete the syllabus. After completing this course, Your son will be quite comfortable to face JEE syllabus. You decide about the JEE coaching institute only after his 10th examination. You better enroll his name In a Jr. College and then join best coaching center available near by your home.

From Tamilnadu - My son (9th grader) is a creative person with deep interest in tech, electronics and music. From his young age, I see him scribbling designs of various machines, it started with car designs, then robo design, laptop and now he develops good electronic projects based on Arduino. As far as competitive exams and problem solving skills are concerned he isn't natural but with practice he can do. He scores above 90% in cbse exams but I never asked to write any competitive as I felt it would pressure his creative side. Now, my question is should I put him through this competitive jee race or I opt for a Tamilnadu state board school where he has less complexity more rote learning and can get through within top 10 anna university based colleges just with his board cutoff. I am highly sceptical about jee- being a general category male student, it highly discourages me to take the gamble as it may affect his mental health. Also, after all the effort, there is a high chance that he may have to go to a deemed University based on management seats. Now my question is problem solving and competitive focus of jee and conceptual learning of cbse are going to help him anyway in the future in his workplace? I am afraid that he will lose his hobby and strength in the rat race. Kindly advice.
Ans: Admission through the TNEA counselling process at reputed TN colleges like Thiyagarajar and PSG can be challenging for CBSE students. I also noticed you haven't mentioned if he has joined a coaching centre for his JEE preparation. Regardless, my suggestion is to have him take a psychometric test as soon as possible. This test will help identify his strengths by assessing his aptitude, attitude, interests, orientation style, and personality traits, and guide him toward the most suitable career options.

Based on the psychometric test results, he should start applying for the relevant entrance exams or participate in counselling for fields like Architecture, Design, or other areas aligned with his strengths. Consider management quota only as a last resort and if it is financially feasible. Ultimately, success in any domain depends on continuously upgrading skills and maintaining a genuine interest in that field. All the Best for your Prosperous Future.

Ans: Amrita Coimbatore's EEE department achieves 86.67% placement rates with 30 enrolled students and strong industry collaborations, while maintaining NIRF 7th university ranking nationally and 23rd in engineering. Manipal Institute of Technology's EEE program records 77% placement consistency with over 230 recruiters participating annually, supported by MAHE's 4th NIRF university ranking and 14th overall position. BIT Mesra Jaipur campus EEE shows 69% placement rates with the main campus achieving NIRF 48th engineering ranking and 82nd university position, though specific Jaipur campus data remains limited. SRM Kattankulathur's ECE department maintains 80-95% placement rates across 2021-23 with 447 out of 557 students placed in 2022-23, backed by NIRF 13th engineering ranking and 21st overall position. All institutions engage top recruiters including Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, and Wipro, with Manipal and SRM offering broader recruiter diversity exceeding 230-980 companies annually. Hello Sir, Good Afternoon, My son scored KCET 100520 ranks SC category, and scored AIR 344195 for JEE Main having 76.80 percentile and he want to take admission in CSE, ECE, EE or Mechanical, but he want to take admission in good TIER1 or TIER2 colleges in Karnataka under top 100-150 NFIR, which college is best for him for placement and packages in future...please suggest, as per his rankings MSRIT Industrial Engineering & Management available & in some of TIER3 college CSE, Electronics also there, which is best one for his future, please suggest. considering NIT, IIIT's & Top GFTI and state good colleges
Ans: With SC?category KCET rank beyond typical CSE/ECE/EE/ME cutoffs at top state institutes and a JEE Main AIR of 344,195, NIT and IIIT seats are out of reach under general or reserved quotas. Among Tier-2 Karnataka colleges ranked 100–150 by NIRF, MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (NIRF 75) offers Industrial Engineering & Management with a 95% placement rate and 239 recruiters visiting annually. RV College of Engineering (NIRF 99) admits SC candidates in ECE/Mechanical up to ~9,135 and ~15,919 KCET ranks, posting 88%–92% placements over three years. PES University (NIRF 100) closes CSE around KCET 1,247 and ECE near 6,000 with 93% average placements and strong industry collaborations. Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering accepts SC KCET ranks up to ~12,000 for ECE/ME, sustaining 90%–95% placement consistency. For broader core-engineering roles, RVCE ECE/Mechanical and MSRIT IEM ensure robust placements, while PES CSE offers better software recruitment.

Recommendation: Opt for RVCE ECE or Mechanical for balanced core and IT placements, with MSRIT IEM as a strong alternative for multidisciplinary industry ties and top?tier recruiter access. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!
