There are some differences between the CBSE and ICSE boards. The syllabus of ICSE is a little tougher than that of CBSE. But as your son is not in 9th standard, I would like to recommend to continue him in Cambridge till his 10th completes. If you shift him to the CBSE board for 10th class, then he might face some problems related to teaching method, examination pattern, etc. But if you have some problems related to your job or are thinking of shifting from your existing place to a new place, then shift your son to CBSE 10th class or if your son is unable to keep up with the syllabus of ICSE, then also shift him to the CBSE board. Now, talking about the future, there will be no effect either a student passes from CBSE or ICSE. Becuase after 10th, students from any board appear to the same type of State-Level and National Level entrance examinations like NEET, JEE, NATA, BITSAT etc. Thanks
