It helps the young cope up with the constant pressure of fitting into the social media norms of body images, which otherwise often lead to eating disorders and depression. If practised regularly, it helps cope with peer and performance pressure. Padmasana helps improve digestion and strengthens the spine whereas Yashtikasana stretches the entire body and aids in increasing height and also helps in correcting the faulty posture of rounded or drooping shoulders. Pranayama, on the other hand, is both soothing for the mind and body and improves concentration.

Ans: Eye Exercises:
1. Tratak:
This exercise not only beneficial for the eyes bit also helps in improving concentration.
Start by sitting in any comfortable position. (Sukhasana or Vajrasana)
Start by gazing in front. Then slowly, without moving your head, move your eyeballs to shoulder
in one continuous movement, without blinking.
Gently begin moving eyes back to centre and then towards left shoulder.
Return gaze to centre.
Now move your eyes up and down without moving your head or blinking.

2. Nasal Gaze: Fix both the eyes on the tip of the nose. Continue to gaze for a few seconds
and then close the eyes.

3. Eyebrow Gaze: Focus both eyes on the space between eyebrows. Continue to gaze for a
few seconds and then close the eyes.

4. Rubbing of palms and cupping your eyes: This is practiced after completely the practice
of Tratak. It’s a way to relax the eyes after the eye movements. Gentle rub your palms
to create some heat and place the palms on the eyes such that palms do not touch the
eyes but form a cup, shielding the eyes. Hold this position for 5-10 second.. Repeat once
or twice.

5. Rapid blinking and then shutting your eyes

1. Start by sitting in cross cross position on the floor. Now start staring at an object at eye level. continue staring till you eyes feel tired and start watering. After which gentle close your eyes and relax for 10-15 breaths. Repeat 3 times.
2. Try making circles with your eyeballs without moving your head or neck. Start by looking up, then right, then down and left. Make sure you do not move your head or neck. Just your eyes. Practice 3 rounds clockwise and then anti clockwise.

It’s absolutely normal for a 5 year old to get easily distracted. However it’s never too early to introduce yoga to your child, which in the long run will help him stay calm and focused. You may want to start with a few minutes of meditation with him. All you need to do is set a routine. Start with sitting in silence for 1 min where u and him sit together in a room with eyes closed, no talking and if possible not moving. Slowly you can then increase the duration to 1.5 mins and then to 2 min. How ever reminder not to be too hard on him. Let him enjoy doing this with you. You may also play some light meditation music if he enjoys that. This will help both of you calm down.
