Hello sir My son got IIT Dharwad ECE whereas we planned to opt float ..the next possible seat is NIT Rourkela mechanical....should I float or freeze with IIT Dharwad

Ans: With a VITEEE rank of 73777, CSE in VIT Vellore or VIT Chennai is not realistic, and ECE is also very unlikely at Vellore and only a remote possibility at Chennai in higher fee categories. A practical choice is to prioritize ECE/IT/related branches in VIT Bhopal or VIT-AP, or take a better branch in another good college rather than chasing CSE at Vellore/Chennai. Ans: Your son has good chances at NITs for ECE/EEE and at some mid-NITS for CSE/AI branches. BTech 4 yrs + optional later 2 years MTech is generally valued more and offers better flexibility than the integrated 5 years MTech. With a JEE score, he has chances in Maharashtra's top colleges like COEP, VJTI, SPIT, and PICT for ECE/EEE and possibly AI/DS in later rounds, but CSE in COEP/VJTI may be difficult in the open category.

Ans: He can get CSE @ VIT AP/Amravati, maybe in cat 2-3, but @ Vellore/Chennai in higher fee cat 4-5
