Hi Sir, My Son got CSE in VIT Vellore Cat1 and Thapar CSE , which one will be more good in terms of studies, college environment and placement. difference is quite high in Fee thapar and VIT cat. 1. Thapar fee is Approx 17 L extra, we are from Delhi.

Ans: Rajneesh Sir, Both VIT Vellore CSE (Category 1) and Thapar CSE are excellent options in terms of academics, placements, and campus life. VIT Vellore stands out for its diverse student community, modern curriculum, and a broad spectrum of recruiters offering attractive salary packages. However, it is worth noting that VIT’s campus can be quite crowded. Thapar, on the other hand, offers a more focused academic environment and typically reports slightly higher average CSE packages, but this comes with a significantly higher fee compared to VIT Category 1.

While both institutions have strong placement records and academic support, VIT’s national reputation, larger peer network, and lower fees make it a more cost-effective choice overall. Unless you have a strong preference for Thapar’s proximity to Delhi or its specific alumni network, VIT Vellore CSE (Category 1) generally offers better value for money.

As a suggestion, consider Thapar if the location advantage near Delhi is important and the higher fee is manageable for your family. I also recommend discussing the substantial fee difference and location preferences with your son, as involving him in the decision-making process will help you make a more informed and mutually agreeable choice. All the best for your son's admission and a bright future!
