Hi I am 61 and have a corpus of 1.1Cr. Can I get 1L per month by investing it in fairly safe instruments? I currently have the money in FD and a few mutual funds but not getting close to 1L per month. This is Mohan

Ans: Hello Mohan, firstly I want to address the point of safety that you spoke about - Safety is a point of view and has a different definition depending on how you look at it. For example you might find FD's safe and equity mutual funds are not safe whereas i think FD's are not safe and mutual funds are safe if my time horizon of investment is 7yrs plus ( accounting the inflation in this case )
The thumb rule as per me to get a SWP is 6% of your corpus, so you shall withdraw 1L a month from your portfolio if you have a corpus of 2crs

I am 42 years old and I would like to have INR 2 Cr. corpus in say 10 years. Can you tell me how much I need to invest per month and where (please give specific fund names in each category Sir than just saying debt fund or growth fund)? I know you don’t prescribe specific but you can at least pls say these 2-3 funds are good in this specific category etc. Please help. I don't have any investments in mutual funds or equity on date.

Ans: You would be required to make Rs. 80,000/- monthly investment in equity mutual fund for 10 years to create a corpus of Rs. 2 crs.

Ans: Try for both, getting a good job and simultaneously prepare for MBA entrance exams. If you get a good college then take it up, leaving your job. If you get a good job that you like then can think of the option of doing online MBA.

Hello sir. I m final year bcom student and my field is accounts and finance. After 3 to 4 month my bcom graduation will get over and i am planning to do MBA in finance. So i am planning to get admit in good mba college by writing pgcet exam. If i dint get good rank in pgcet then i wont join mba rather i will do job and gain experience of one year and then rewrite pgcet exam for good rank. So currently i am confused should i Focus on my pgcet prepration or should i focus on skills and courses like powerbi, advance excel, analysis etc.

Ans: If you are sure you want to get into a good MBA college, then focus on pgcet. Also can write other management entrance exams like CAT, CMAT, MAT, ATMA, etc.

Sir i have done my engineering from tier 3 college and iam average in my academic also . But i have keen interest in management and want to dive into it . I am confused about appearing in Cat exam or not .

Ans: CAT is a good option as there are many colleges that accept CAT. It is definitely possible for a student from tier 3 institute to get into top Management college as long as you are able to crack the written test and are able to do well in the interview.

I have done my ug and pg in food technology. But after experiencing the food industry market I don't feel there is much scope for a girl that too with less experience to grow in this field. Should I go for an online MBA or should I go for some coding course to secure my career further. I'm confused.

Ans: Do something that you are interested in. So if you are interested in Coding then can take that up. But today coders also are facing problem with jobs due to AI. If you are interested in MBA then can go ahead and do an MBA. But try and do it from a good college else you will face problem in placements.

Ans: Regular MBA is always preferred over Online MBA unless you have a very good job at hand or due to some reasons you cannot leave your job. Distance / Online is similar in nature.

Ans: Yes. I have had doctors who have gone to do MBA from top institutes like IIM A, JBIMS, etc. They have got job in Healthcare consultancy in consultancy firm. One has gone to work as an Investment Banker in JP Morgan.
