How best to handle Vertigo

Ans: Vertigo is a common condition and usually benign. If the first episode of vertigo occurs after the age of 60, one must rule out stroke or other brain conditions. Ear afflictions, like acute infections can also cause vertigo. The treatment is usually a medication taken for a few days and vestibular rehabilitation exercises.

Vertigo can be due to multiple reasons. It is either related to your sinus points and other issues in the ears. Or cervical spondylosis is the cause.

You should evaluate the root cause. Check if you have blood pressure fluctuations and accordingly go for treatment to a doctor.

If it is related to issues with the ear, an Ayurveda practitioner can help with a course of treatment that might include steam inhalation to clear your sinus points behind the ear, breathing exercises, etc.

If it’s a cervical spondylosis, then visit a physiotherapist.

Also constant mobile gazing is a common cause of vertigo these days. Try digital fasting by cutting your screen viewing for a week to check if there is any improvement.

Hello Mam, I got BPPV(Vertigo) due to yoga .. Now i'm struggling this issue frm last 2 years .. I've now anxiety issues also and can't do all my routines work.. I'm a working woman.. Kindly suggest what i should do now..

Ans: It is important to practice Yog under supervision of qualified and experienced teachers. Hope you have done required testing to identify the reasons behind your symptoms. I suggest you also get a check of your sinuses, if not already done.
Then consult an experienced Ayurvedic doctor for a proper treatment plan to cure this for lifetime.
