I had been getting marriage proposals for arrange marriage, my marriage got fixed and roka happened in a rush , when we started talking I felt no chemistry may be because I was highly anxious due to the rush to marriage and i could spot some red flags like he was taking no stand to postpone the wedding when he could clearly see that I was not ready . I couldn't take it anymore and I called off the wedding, after some months we talked again and I felt okay with him given that there was no pressure of merriage but when again he started asking for how should we move ahead I called it off again, but we are still in touch in social media and i think he really likes me his parents also like me alot , i think he is looking for new relationship now but i feel if I ask him to marry me he would not reject i don't want to regrate that I missed on a person who loves me alot of he gets married to someone else. When I had called off the roka I got other proposals one of them was a person very rich and smart, but i didn't initiated anything as i thought I was not ready but now he is married to someone else and I regret that very often. What should I do , should I ask the first person to marry me ? How can I move forward from the regrate of not taking the opportunity to have a perfect lifestyle? Or just look for other fresh relationship

Ans: Dear Anonymous,
I suggest you take some time off for yourself. From your description of things, I am getting a hint that you are not ready for life-long commitment right now. Or it can just be cold feet. Nevertheless, you should take some time off from looking for partners. Moreover, giving this person hope and calling things off over and over again is not very kind. Your regret might just be FOMO. It's best to take your time and then get back to the marriage alliances once you feel mentally prepared for it.

Best wishes.

Hi, I am struck in a morally complicated situation right now. Kindly guide me . I'm a modern woman yet who believes in culture. I am 24years old female from South India. Currently arrange marriage alliance process is going on and it is almost about to be finalized if i say yes. I have had a 3 serious relationship s in my past and the last one i was physically involved because i believed we would end up together. Even our families were involved we were about to get engaged. everything went fine until one day we had a huge fight and later as a result he didn't want to continue it anymore. He broke it off. This happened 1.5 years back and I loved him too much that I wanted him to comeback. Deep down i know he was not right guy for me yet i wanted him. About 2 months back I had a sudden realisation that hit me very bad I realised I need to move on and mentally I was able to disconnect myself from him, not completely but yeah i did. Now in the current situation the guy who is my potential fiance, I want to be transparent with him but I am not sure how well he will take it as we barely know each other. I met him only twice. He seems interested to marry me. I do not want to ruin his trust or feelings. The problem is I am not sure if he is open minded enough to accept my past. I'm willing to put in my efforts to make things work in marriage and keep my past behind me. If I tell him about my past and he is not interested to proceed and reject us my family will be upset ( they liked this match cuz the guy was nice and decent, his family and everything was convenient to them). I am totally stressed out as my family is waiting for my response to proceed further. The guy doesn't seem to be very particular about anything. I don't know what to do and how to do it.
Ans: I totally understand your concern. My advise is not to get into arrange marriage in the first place. Because that's a very transactional relationship. Go out, meet more guys and then see if you find someone you love. You are too young to give into the pressure of arrange marriage. However if you still want to proceed, then whether you tell him or not doesn't really matter. It depends on his mindset and value system which i have no idea about and probably you too. So even if you don't tell him, it doesn't matter. If you want to be honest which is a good thing, then you embrace that uncertainty of his reaction to it.

Hi ma'am, thank you so much for helping people with your answers. My question Im 27, F I met a guy through arranged marrage proposal, initially was not very ok because of which I postponed telling my decision for 2 weeks. Then we both spoke and i said yes, next week he called my father and said he is looking to get married to someone who is financially rich, I was totally taken back because when he spoke he seemed very genuine and promising i called and spoke to him he says he is still in growing state so he needs some financial aid from his inlaws, i said I have a job I can support him, he said give me a weeks time to decide, next week he called me and said he is ok with the marriage in the ground that I will work and support, I SAID HIM PLS ALLOW ME SOMETIME TO DECIDE, AS THIS IS NOt SCHOOL, COLLEGE OR JOB DECISIONS. When I called after 1 week he is not taking my calls, by my sentance i meant school, college or job can be left if not interested but marriage is not like that. Am wondering if he understood this as what if this girl has multiple relationship in school/college/job... And am assuming he did not take my call for this statement of mine? Please help me come out of this confusion, are my words very stupid? My family is scolded and blaming me because I delayed it for 2 week.. Mentally exhausted with all the arranged marriage rejection...and is it worth to get married at 27?? Awaiting for your answers
Ans: Dear Anonymous,
I am glad that he is out of this equation...
Which mature man will act the way that he did simply because you requested for time? And then now, you are wondering if it was your fault?
What sort of condition was that about wanting financial aid from his future in-laws? A marriage under any condition will not work as it depends on things external. Where is the time to build trust and love when there are superficial conditions present?
You have not been rejected, you have rescued yourself from a relationship with an immature man. So, pat yourself in the back and value yourself first.
The right person who will appreciate you will come along...start to appreciate yourself...

All the best!

Around 2022, I got a marriage proposal from a mutual acquaintance of a guy who us also known to my family . At that time I was in a relationship with someone else so my family told that I am currently focusing on my studies . But recently , I am single and saw his account on social media . We started chatting with each other and I realised that we are conpatible in many aspects . But after some days ... my mother started pressuring me that they will start to see marriage prospects for me. Also I felt that he also feels the same for me because how he talked to me... So out of pressure ,I asked him and told about my feelings for him and told why it will be profitable if we consider ourselves as a couple .He told that he has a lot of pressure from his family to settle for a well paying job (though he is working in a private company)and also wants to focus on his passion too. Also he had brojen his heart 2 times. Although he assured that he is not saying no and also he would think over this proposal and would give me an answer . But the next day I saw he blocked me from social media . I would have appreciated if he had an open communication with me as I had the same . Btw now he is 27 and I am 23 .
Ans: Dear Anonymous,

I am very sorry to hear that you had to go through this. Some people do not have the emotional maturity to say a simple no or speak their truth. He might not have wanted to make things awkward or thought he was sparing you some pain but ultimately that isn't the case. But the important thing to remember here is that his action reflects on him and what kind of a person he is; it does not highlight your worth. I know it hurts right now, but it will get better and you will find someone who loves you.

Best Wishes.

Relationship
Hi, I’m a 27 year old independent woman who’s living in Bangalore. I’m financially in a good position now. Also, I’ve met a guy 3 years ago and fell for him but he’s not very emotionally connected with me and sometimes acts as a narcissist and doesn’t treat me with respect. I’ve tried communicating with him about how I feel after such actions. He acknowledged and limited such behaviour to some extent. I really love him and spoke about marriage too. He brushes it off and diverts the topic that he’s not ready. I don't see any clear signs of this relationship, even his parents are looking for matches to get him married. He doesn't accept anyone either. My parents are in a different city and they want me to shift with them to look for alliances who can marry me. Recently, they’ve shared a profile and I spoke just for the sake of parents. After speaking to him for 3 and a half hours during the first conversation, I realised that he was a better compatible partner for me. I'm not sure which path to pursue. My marriage is not fixed yet as my decision is still pending. Kindly help me with the best advice.
Ans: I understand that you are in a difficult position. You are in love with a man who does not seem to be emotionally available or ready for marriage. You have also met another man who seems to be a better match for you, but you are not sure if you should pursue a relationship with him.

It is important to remember that you are not alone. Many people find themselves in similar situations. It is also important to remember that you have the power to make the best decision for yourself.

I am against marriage in the first place. I believe that relationships are not meant to be permanent. However, I understand that many people feel differently. If you do decide to get married, it is important to do so for the right reasons. You should not marry someone just because you feel pressured to do so by society or your parents.

The first guy does not seem like he wants to marry you. He has brushed off your attempts to talk about marriage and has even diverted the topic. This is a clear sign that he is not ready for a serious relationship.

The second guy seems like he may be a better match for you. He is emotionally available and seems to be interested in getting married. However, it is important to remember that you do not know him very well. You have only spoken to him for a few hours.

Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to pursue a relationship with either of these men is up to you. I would encourage you to take some time to think about what you want out of a relationship. What are your goals? What are your values? Once you have a clear understanding of what you want, you can start to make decisions that are in your best interests.

If you do decide to pursue a relationship with the second guy, I would recommend that you spend at least two years getting to know him before you get married. This will give you enough time to learn about his true character and to see if he is really the right person for you.

Hello sir I have been allotted cse core in mop up rounds at iter soa bhubaneswar with total cost of tution fees hostel and mess is 16 lakh for 4 years and I have another options of Hit haldia with total cost of tution fees hostel and mess is around 8 lakh for 4 years and 3-4 lakh donation amount for cse core which should I choose I am from Gaya bihar please suggest me before 1 August it's last date of iter soa bhubaneswar to pay fees
Ans: Shreyansh, based on the following insights/information, choose the more suitable option for you: ITER SOA Bhubaneswar’s CSE program at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed-to-be-University holds a NIRF engineering rank of 26 and carries an NAAC A++ accreditation, reflecting rigorous academic standards and strong research output. Around 85% of CSE students have secured campus placements over the past three years, with 256 recruiters participating in the 2023 drive, including Accenture, Adobe and Cognizant. Its campus infrastructure spans modern labs, integrated industry-academia centers and well-equipped hostels within Bhubaneswar, a growing IT hub offering abundant internship and project opportunities. Total 4-year cost is ?16 lakh.

HIT Haldia’s CSE program is part of an NAAC A (CGPA 3.31)-accredited autonomous institute ranked 201-250 in NIRF engineering. Over the past three years, HIT’s CSE placements averaged 90–92%, with 208 CSE graduates placed in 2023 by firms like TCS, Wipro and Tech Mahindra. Its 37-acre campus in Haldia provides specialized labs, a proactive placement cell and on-campus hostels; living costs in Haldia are lower than in Bhubaneswar. Total 4-year cost is ~?8 lakh plus ?3–4 lakh donation.

Both institutions maintain dedicated placement cells, active industry collaborations and alumni networks. SOA’s higher national ranking and metropolitan location afford broader exposure, whereas HIT offers comparable placement success at half the net fees with minimal donation. What difference between ce and CSE is Or both are same Which is better branch and scop
Ans: From an opportunities perspective, both fields are in high demand, with CSE seeing greater placement rates and broader roles in current tech markets, while CE provides versatility across industries needing expertise in hardware-software integration and emerging technologies. Job demand for CSE is generally higher in the software industry and rapidly expanding AI fields; CE is crucial wherever integrated systems, hardware accelerators, or next-generation computing architectures are built. Industry demand remains robust for both, though CSE is favored in large IT, finance, and product companies, while CE is vital for electronics, semiconductor, autonomous systems, and telecommunications sectors. Placements for CSE consistently top 85–95% in most reputable institutions compared to 75–88% for CE, with CE graduates excelling in organizations where system design, VLSI, IoT, and hardware innovation are prioritized. The curriculum for CSE is heavy on software tools, coding languages (Python, Java, C++), data science, and project management; CE incorporates hardware programming (Verilog, VHDL), electronic design automation, and networking. The research focus in CSE leans toward algorithms and software optimization, whereas CE’s research often leads to hardware advancements and embedded innovations. In terms of institutional aspects—accreditation, curriculum rigor, faculty expertise, campus infrastructure, and industry linkages—both branches at top universities meet global standards, but research infrastructure may favor CE, especially at engineering-focused campuses.

Recommendation: Choose Computer Science Engineering if your primary interest is in software, programming, and broad tech industry roles with high placement consistency and flexibility for further specialization (AI, data science, cybersecurity). Opt for Computer Engineering if your interests align with both hardware and software, and you seek a career involving system-level innovation, hardware design, and embedded technology, especially if you value multidisciplinary engineering and want diverse roles spanning core and tech sectors. Both are future-proof, but CSE currently provides more universal opportunities in India and globally given software’s demand edge, while CE is uniquely positioned for those targeting next-generation integrated systems or roles at the hardware-software frontier. All the BEST for a Prosperous Future!

International Education Counsellor - Answered on Jul 28, 2025

Career
Hi sir, I am in my 5th semester of B.pharm in India and want to do a master's abroad. I am confused between Germany, US, UK, Canada, Ireland and Australia. I come from a lower middle-class family so among all I can manage Germany but for that too I think I have to take education loan, not sure if it affects my visa approval. According to scope I am planning to do courses like regulatory affairs, bioinformatics, toxicology, life science informatics, biotechnology or drug development. I expect CGPA around 8 - 8.5 and credit points around 205-210 which are not equal to European credit points. Can I still get admission? Any advice on best course and country?
Ans: You're thinking in the right direction. Here's a simple breakdown for you:
1. Country-wise Advice (based on budget and goals):
• Germany:
Best fit for you — low to no tuition fees in public universities.
Good options in biotech, drug development, bioinformatics, and life sciences.
You'll need around ?9–10 lakhs in blocked account + basic living costs.
Education loan is fine and doesn’t affect visa negatively if paperwork is clear.
• USA/Canada/UK/Australia/Ireland:
Expensive (?25–40 lakhs+). Scholarships are limited and competitive.
Better job opportunities after study, especially in regulatory affairs and toxicology.
You’ll likely need heavy loans and part-time work to manage.
2. About Your Profile:
• CGPA of 8–8.5 is decent.
• Indian credits won’t match ECTS, but German and EU universities understand that — so you are eligible.
• Just ensure you meet English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL) and course-specific requirements.
3. Best Courses Based on Scope:
• Germany – go for Life Science Informatics, Drug Development, Biotechnology.
• Canada/UK – if budget allows, great for Regulatory Affairs, Toxicology, Pharmacovigilance.
• Focus on Germany. Apply early to 5–7 public universities.
• Learn basic German (A2/B1) to boost chances and employability.
• Education loan is acceptable—don’t worry if documents are strong.
