Hi, i am dating someone and got to know that he is same caste and same gotra as mine. It keeps me worried. How much should I be concerned about this regarding marrying him and having kids in future. Also my concern comes from the fact my own real brother passed away from eye cancer at the age of five. kindly help.

I will say this again: Address whatever concerns they have whether it is about caste, religion, money...If it is about caste obviously it is a deep-rooted belief that cannot be changed easily. Don't fight it, but rather address it.
Maybe if over some time spend time with the boy and get to know him, they may change their opinion. But that may not happen, so be prepared for that as well.
It's only about making an attempt without really expecting the best outcome. Who knows it might turn out for the best...

No, you are not a bad girl or characterless for having feelings for a boy.
Now, why your parents don't agree to this could only be because of the caste thing or financial position...parents of a girl so worry about how their girl will adjust to a new culture and money worries can only make their worry get larger.
Do find out what their concerns are...they are only trying to make you see their point of view by using emotional blackmail like suicide etc. Instead of running away from it or being scared, face the issue at hand and talk to them in a manner that you understand what their worries are.
Then you and your partner together find a way to address these concerns...at least it's one step towards action.
