My 40 years son was fraudulently married to a schizophrenic girl in march this year. He is shocked to know the fact. He wants to get rid of her. Please advice accordingly.

Ans: Dear Anonymous,
Well, it's unfortunate that this was not mentioned to your son before marriage.
Also, has the girl been clinically diagnosed?
Ans oh, you cannot get rid of anyone; you can only move away from them OR in your son's case, separate/divorce.
Why I ask whether it was clinically diagnosed is only because any case warrants grounds of legal merit. If you have the necessary documents to prove it, then consult a lawyer who will then advice you accordingly.

Talk to a lawyer who will guide you on the separation process; also he/she will draft the terms and conditions keeping in mind that you are dependent financially on your husband and how he will provide for you and your daughter.
Be strong through all of this and slowly start thinking about yourself and how you will lead a life by yourself.

I am 54+ and got married 28 years ago with a schizophrenic. I have a 27 years old son. He is working with a MNC away from home. I tolerated a lot but now I feel quite tension with her. Because of tensions I got diabetic and other problems with my family. What should I do?

It is difficult to live with anyone who has a mental health issue.
But since this happens to be your spouse one of your core relationships), I am going to request you to push your threshold a little more.
- make sure that she gets the necessary treatment and is taking her medications regularly
- take care of your health and mind and if needed reach out to a professional to guide you

Yes, at times things can get very tough and perhaps even frustrating BUT don't give up...your life needs to be managed around the situation that you are in.
Along with the suggestions made above, make sure that you have a life out of this as well...which means, indulge in hobbies, travel, have a large social circle...this will give you the much needed respite from the challenges that you are facing at home. Life is about navigating around these challenges and yes, they are not easy BUT with a few coping strategies, it is possible to bring some calmness around and with you.

Anything and everything connected with the market will get affected by market volatility. (ULIPs & ELSS too)

However for investors it is like a grand new year sale.

Continue your regular investments and also do lumpsum, if possible, at every sharp decline.

Only those whose target horizon is near should withdraw their gains from equity funds. They can begin fresh investments for some other financial goal.

Tks a lot for the clear answers to my queries regarding transmission of shares. However, I would like some more clarification on custodial account for shares entitled to C. Custodial account for C will mean a brokerage account in name of C under guardianship of B or an account in name of B but under some category called as Custodial accounts? Alternatively, can the shares entitled for C be sold by B as C's legal guardian and then the sale proceeds be brought in India directly in a bank account in name of C under B's guardianship? Thanks in advance for the support.

Ans: A custodial account for shares typically means a brokerage account held in the name of the minor (C) but managed by the guardian (B). This allows the guardian to oversee the account and make investment decisions on behalf of the minor.
Alternatively, the shares entitled to C can indeed be sold by B as C's legal guardian. The proceeds from the sale can then be brought into India and deposited into a bank account in C's name, under B's guardianship. However, it's important to ensure that all legal requirements and permissions are met, especially if the shares are part of a larger estate or property.

I am in the process of buying raw materials from different states for my manufacturing unit. How does the GST structure affect inter-state purchases, and how can I reclaim the input tax credit (ITC) on these transactions?

Ans: 01. All purchases, may be from different states, should have your GST number on it, so that your GST paid is reflected in GSTR-2B.
02. While filing your GST Returns, you can off set your GST liability with the ITC, as reflected in GSTR-2B.

Ans: 01. Yes. This transaction would be subject to Capital Gain Tax.
02. Under present provisions of Income Tax Act, you may opt any of the options (in case of Long Term Capital Gains), as under :
(a). Tax Rate 12.50% without indexation or
(b). Tax Rate of 20% with Indexation.
03. You may calculate your tax liability under both options & may opt for the tax regime, where tax liability is minimum.

If money is transferred to his mother (non earning Sr Ctz housewife) from Son's account, would the interest income on FD or SCSS investment made by his mother in her name be clubbed with husband's (retired Sr Ctz) income ?

Ans: No. Such income cannot be clubbed with the income of her husband, since the amount was not transferred by her husband to her account.
